It’s going to come down to the wire whether or not Jett is returned. All articles point to this being the case but torts is giving him a lot of praise

Surprised he is not playing tonight with their next game next Friday's season opener. Even with Torts high praise I don't think he will play more than 9 games this year. Huge trade deadline decision though as I am not confident he is back next year if he is having a big year this year as I expect he will.

Yes, he may get 9 games but there's no way he sticks as an 18 year old. I agree whole heartedly that it makes the trade deadline tough though... it would sting to graduate both Poitras and Luchanko without getting a return. I can't wait until he's back though... it'll make for some fun hockey in Guelph.

With the arms race heating up, especially in the East, i wonder if George may get some offers he can't refuse.
Even Kingston and Sudbury may be looking to add and London, Erie and perhaps Flint will need to add just to keep up with the competition. Saginaw has little to offer but seem to want to make a run as well.
With limited players likely to move there still should be an opportunity to add a solid 06 and draft picks for a deep run the next couple of years.
I would prefer deadline moves since I am still bullish we can and will be a top 4 team in the West.

It's early days, but I think with the leaps in development that we've seen so far - Alriksson, McFadden and Singh in particular... Guelph will look far better this season.

McGuire is making a case for himself also, looks like they're doing the OA rotation for now...

Boy I really feel for the Storm fans if you potentially lose Luchanko to the Flyers , not saying that’s going to happen by any means at all , but I’m also not holding my breath either and I’m preparing for any scenario . Especially after Poitras permanently stayed in the NHL last season .

You gotta give credit too George Burnett and for the system he has put in place on development

Poitras was a year older. Luchanko will definitely be back. Next year he likely goes the way of Poitras though.

Budnick attending Kalamazoo training camp (ECHL).
Looks like there's room for McGuire, Namestnikov and Karabela now... that should help with scoring.
Larry reporting that Luchanko is expected to stay up for his 9 game tryout.

Congratulations to Jett on making the opening night roster and for making history as the youngest Flyer to do so. The 9 game watch is on, game 9 would be October 27th, game 10 on the 29th.

With Budnick going after a pro contract, our OA situation may sort itself out. I'm liking the options at forward.

Alriksson/Luchanko/Namestnikov (they've had Max on his off wing this season, he and Alriksson have had good chemistry in the past. This top line would be killer.)
McFadden/Karabela/Paquette (McFadden has shown he has GAF and compete. Try him out in top 6.)
McKenzie/McGuire/Serlin (McKenzie is proving me wrong in early days, this checking line looks solid.)
Snelgrove/McLean/Stevens (Stevens definitely stays up IMO... 3 16 year old max, he's going to be a good one.)
Johnston

Lots of development minutes to be had. That top line though.... 🔥

Hey, just gotta say your winger Alriksson has improved from last year and he was already good.

One sequence in particular from last Sunday's game at Kitchener he levelled Andonovski behind the Kitchener net, gets the puck and dishes off, drives the net, gets the pass in tight and scored a good hands goal.

OA's confirmed. Budnick is in the ECHL so we've got Karabela, McGuire, and Namestnikov.

Larry reporting Karabela is back in tonight, but Beauschesne and now McFadden, Skvorstov, and Haley are all out. Defense will be thin against a high-scoring Spitfire team!

Even with the four out plus missing Luch, Storm gave the Spits fits. Thank God that Reid helped the Spits out to make it 3-1. He really needs to retire from the league - totally avoided going anywhere near the Storm bench for the rest of the second and much of the third. Windsor has a good goalie in Costanzo.

Luchanko scratched last night and again tonight.
Surprised even with the Flyers slow start and their fans panicing, it appears Torts does not believe Jett is one of the solutions.
Hopefully this is an indication he will be returned soon to give him an opportunity to play and develop.

I watched the first game against the Oilers and thought Luchanko played great for an 18 year old. That being said, he's 18 and should come back for at least one year just to get the full reps, and build some more strength

Sounds like Jett will not be playing again tomorrow. Torts doesn't want to play him with team struggling.

Given the train wreck that’s happening now, unfortunately one player isn’t going to make a difference no matter how good he is.
Not just 1 player but potentially a top 10, maybe top 5 player in the league. Think about it what is the only 2 players in the O that stayed this long in the show? Ritchie and Luchanko.

1 player doesn’t change the outcome of a game but if that one player gets a goal a game that’s a hell of a lot better than not having that player.

In fairness, not just 1 player. Played last night with only 3 F lines. Missing Luchanko, Alrikssson, Stevens, McGuire and Johnston
On defense Beauchense and Haley still out injured.
Karrabela and McFadden have missed multiple games as well.
Topp injured and did not play in the 2nd and 3rd last night. Hopefully not serious.
McLean and Ellsworth will be at Team Canada for probably 5 games.
Look forward to seeing our full lineup soon to judge what we have or don't have prior to the trade deadline.
