I think they do. I don’t remember someone getting loaned then playing a full season with the nhl team after

hes played 15 minutes the two previous games vs new york and new jersey. i think its more like curtis lazar back when he was 19 personally.

Barrett Hayton never got sent back after playing World Juniors.
Thanks for the reference point and for keeping me grounded. Lol.

'Don Sweeney makes it clear that Matt Poitras will return to the Bruins after World Juniors.'

This may very well be true, however I take this comment with a grain of salt. I can't see him saying otherwise, they will likely have conversations and see how he plays in the tournament/how the Bruins play without him.

I feel like a Swifty looking for easter eggs....

In the Poitras interview from today he "misspoke" and said "just because I'm going back down to... just because I'm going over to the World Juniors." 🧐

Probably just a mistake. Guy is 19 happens to the best of us. Probably didn’t want to say he’s going back down to Canada as it may give off a bad message like it isn’t an honour playing for your country.

Or “going back” to play in the wjc but it’s in Sweden where he probably has never been

Regardless that is slightly interesting

I know... that's what I figured, just playing. Lol.

Brutal gaffe in OT in a game that had no business being in OT. Inconsistent effort again - they got lucky last night in Flint despite that inconsistency, but it caught up with them tonight. How do they address that game in, game out inconsistency?

Can someone please elaborate to me as a Canucks fan why Alriksson has suddenly regressed so quickly?

Probably having a tough time adjusting to North American hockey, it sometimes takes Europeans a little bit regardless of draft positions. Plus I believe he’s a power forward too and they normally don’t fill the net in any league

He has actually looked good. He and Luchanko were putting up points as lineages, but the lines have been shuffled a bit so now he's playing middle six/third line. I'd expect that to change next season. His reach is ridiculous on the smaller ice. It just takes some time to put it all together.

With the Poitras ship having officially sailed, and rumblings of Guelph being sellers this year, when do folks think the next window is? Luchanko's 19 year old year would have Gillespie as an OA in net.

Allen is still a huge question mark until we see what his play is like upon his return.

Not throwing in the towel on this season... I'd still build around Buchinger, Karabela, Namestnikov and Bowman.

Trusting in George to make the most of what's out there either way and hoping our D gets healthy.

This team is kinda like the Suzuki Durzi year. Looks like George might tear it down or maybe he will commit highway robbery at the last possible second and you guys are a contender.

This is why I have complete faith in him as the GM to look at all possible avenues and make the right choice.

I have not given up on Poitras yet. Before he left for WJC he sat for 2 games and in a couple of others he sat late in close games. Rumors have them looking for a top 6 centre pushing him to 4th line. Last game they came up with a new 3rd line that won the game for them.
Bruins need to decide does it make sense to give up a year of free agency after he has played 40 games while playing him 4th line on a team all in for a Stanley Cup run. Or does it make more sense for his development with top line minutes on an ohl championship run.
If he was worn out in December as they suggested how can he survive a SC Playoff run?
Also seems strange OHL teams trade rookies to make a championship run but a 19 year old is so important to the Bruins success this year.
I know they have cap issues but is this really the best solution for the team and Poitras development??
I guess we will find out in the next few weeks.

In the meantime I can hope and dream.

Worked out okay for Thornton. We hounds fans were really upset he didn't get sent back but the bruins were adamant that practicing in the nhl was better for his development.

Not saying he's Thornton, but I get it.

Nooooooo... please tell me Buchy comes back into the game. It's a series of unfortunate events in Guelph.

An entertaining first period though.

Must say I was a little surprised to hear we are selling but I do believe trading Buchinger is the right move without Poitras. However now hearing Bowman and Karabela's names being mentioned is not something I ever expected or considered.
If true this would be quite a haul in terms of picks and players with current prices yet not wiping out the team for the balance of this year.
However with 5 other contending teams in the west this year it would be a shrewd move by George.
Two or three players added will set us up very well for next year and beyond with our returnees.
Anxious and looking forward to see how this plays out the next few days. As we say - in George we trust.

Who said they were selling

Ohl4life who I believe and has shown to have inside knowledge said Buchinger is on the board. Not sure I believe other suggested
possibilities though.
I am all in with a soft sell and buy under the circumstances.
Remember I am the guy still hoping for Poitras to return. Even with his 2 assists last night his minutes were down and they are now trying to use him as a winger.
Interesting to see Steve Simmons mention the difference with his Bruins / Team Canada results.
