It’ll be fun to watch the line combos for the forwards. There are quite a few options for the top two lines. Luchanko, Karabela, Namestikov, Alriksson, Paquette, Serlin. I think McFadden and Snelgrove will be making a big push for top minutes as well. First year season ticket holder since I was a kid, used to go to memorial gardens a lot. I’m pretty excited for the season, fun to feel the buzz

Luchanko 2 assists to open up his NHL pre season

Pretty obvious but going to say it anyways- going to put up a lot of points this year and next.

Beginning to worry there is a next year. At this point there may be greater odds of him sticking with Philly than there was for Poitras in Boston.

For Poitras he was one year older. I wouldn't be surprised if Luchanko saw some NHL games to start the season, but I doubt they burn his contract. Poitras was in a unique situation as the Bruins had 0 depth, and it didn't pay off for them as Poitras got injured. I doubt we see the same with Luchanko this year. That being said, this could be his final season in Guelph... which, similar to Poitras, would put a different spin on the contention window.

Luchanko won’t stay up there this year. Physically he’s not ready for the NHL, very long season. Next year will be his year in Philly.

If we think he is more than likely to stick in Philly next year, do we, or should we trade him at the deadline for a huge return?

I think it really depends on how our group of second year players perform this year up to the deadline. Time will tell. I’m hoping for 100 pts and a world jr apperance for Jett
They don't normally take 18 yr olds, its mainly a 19 yr old tournament unless you are a gifted player.

Does anyone know if all of our players will be back from their NHL camps for the Friday opener?

Karabela, Paquette, Allen will be back. They’ve all been reassigned by the NHL teams yesterday or today.

Alriksson and Luchanko are still at their team’s camps.

Luchanko has survived the first round of cuts. Oliver Bonk as well

And Alriksson in Vancouver, he's having a great pre-season over there... looks like he's taken a big step forward...

Week 1 in the books. Can't complain with 4 points but there are areas for improvement.
For me the positives included
Allen's confidence and health is back
Gillespie stole one again for us last night
Skvortzov looks to be a good one and an 07
Karabella is going to have a big year
McGuire adding scoring to his game
Haley's added depth and a +3 for a 13th pick
Looking forward to Alriksson and Luchanko's return after the high of their NHL training camps.

Vilmer Alriksson has signed an ELC with the Vancouver Canucks and has been returned to the Guelph Storm . He had a huge camp and him dropping the Gloves in his first ever taste of NHL hockey in our first exhibition game was super entertaining and just goes to show you that he is going to be in for a huge season in the OHL.

I really think he can get 60-70 points this season especially playing with a star in Luchanko.

So looking forward to following him this season as a Guelph native living in Vancouver as a Canucks fan
