Bullshit. You can't say shit like that on a podcast and then go on the HNIC panel and expect to be taken seriously. You're an amateur and will be treated as such.I obviously don’t agree with what he said. But I can recognize what he said was out of anger and not truly reflective of what he actually thinks.
I don’t think he owes an apology. He was literally harassed and still continues to be. He just needs to be better at controlling his emotions next time.
It’s a two way street. We bash commentators, analysts, hockey journalists, players whether it’s warranted or not. Overly sensitive fans sending personal attacks and calling him sensitive for having visceral reaction is just pure hypocrisy.
And to note, it was on a podcast where he’s allowed to freely speak his mind, not on national television.
What he said was obviously an emotional reaction at the time but he didn't just lash out at the idiots on twitter, he literally shit-talked the whole team and fanbase.
It didn't just come out of nowhere either - it was already clear from watching him on the panel that he was an Oilers fanboy, it was annoying to listen to and that's why he was getting blasted on twitter. Did he "deserve" all that hate and trolling? Of course not, and those people are idiots, but those idiots will always be there and he's chosen a career in national broadcasting so he has to be able to deal with it.
