Miller & Boeser to CBJ gets us the best return.

Perfect timing and targets for the blue jackets.

CBJ must be looking to make a splash, they have been surprisingly strong and need a feel good story to keep the vibes going. Bringing home two American linemates would be big for them

I can't see CBJ haven't any interest in making the type of splash that could disrupt the mojo they have going right now, which this would be.

Not to mention given their team trajectory I don't know how excited they'd be to add older players when most of their young guys are ready to take a step over the next year or so.

What Allvin needs, is an Eastern Conference 'bidding war' for Miller's services. Devils, Rangers and Hurricanes are the rumored 'front-runners'. And all of them have prospects the Canucks would be salivating over.

If all three teams are on Miller's list of acceptable teams, then maybe they can leverage the competition to return some serious assets.
Doesn't sound like any team likes him enough to get into a bidding war.

More like "yeah I guess if nobody else wants him we'll give you some scraps lmk"

Weren’t we close to saying yes? Miller was told he wasn’t playing that night, meaning they were probably OK with Cythil and Lindgren.
plus a first and one or more of the three guys the rangers scratched in the ahl that night, sykora, groulx and chmelar.

That NYR deal is about what I'd expect. Hard to really rate it without knowing who the prospect was, but Chytil has put up 20+ goals before, and is on pace again this year.

We're always going to be worse at C after this trade. Someone like Chytil at least let's us have legit middle 6 options behind Petey. If Petey doesn't return to 100 point pace Petey, it doesn't matter. But if he does, maybe Chytil, Suter, Blueger (Sasson, Raty, Aman) is enough to at least stay in the playoffs race for this season.

The 1st probably then gets the Hronek treatment as well, as I don't think the FO will punt on the season this early. Think they'll want to see what some "fresh air" does to the group before they sell off too many pieces.

But for me, if JTM is gone, and writing on the wall is pretty loud at this point, then Brock Boeser should also be gone. Not that I consider them a package deal necessarily, but if we're doing major surgery amyway, then let's just do all the surgery and get faster while resetting the core's age around Petey and Quinn.

If Allvin can turn JTM + BB into a 2(ish)C and a top 4 D + extra assets and cap space then who knows
..maybe the dark clouds part and this team rides Petey-Hughes-Demko to a 2nd wild card spot.

Then head into the offseason with additional trade assets and some cap flexibility. Need to nail the trades, but there's a path to a quick refresh of the top of the roster.

If we do trade Miller to the Rangers, honestly if he get traded this season it will likely be them. I am hoping for Miller, Chytil, and a first. I think K'Andre Miller is still a good get a top 4 defence-man that plays a lot of minutes, and even though it's a down year for him there is still a ton of potential.I good care less if they get Chytil, Miller should be the priority.

i feel like some people are forgetting what they got with they got with the Horvat trade and what they did with the assets they got back.

can do a lot with capspace and a pick that would currently be in the top 10.

You can almost guarantee that the pick will be 'lottery protected'. If the Rangers fail to make the playoffs, the first round pick would revert to the next draft.

As I recall this was much the same return as the Canucks got in the Islanders trade for Horvat. I think the pick was lottery protected as well, and when Isles made the post-season the pick fell to 17th overall.
