Miller doesn't shave often enough to play for Lou.
Miller doesn't shave often enough to play for Lou.
Most recent reports are that Canucks made Boeser an offer he turned down due to term/salary. I think he's gone by the deadline.
How recent was this?
Last report I had seen this month is that they hadn't talked for some time.

Recap of Frank Seravalli's bit about the Canucks.
Canucks
Tocchet
- Abundantly obvious that they are trying to make something happen with Miller
- Got pushback from the Rangers end; wasn’t conditions on the 1st round pick but Rangers wanted retention on Miller’s contract
- Canucks looking to get assets back and then use the cap space and flip assets for another player; since he doesn’t think they can get the players they want in one transaction
- A lot of their issues are self-inflicted
Boeser
- Questions whether Tocchet is okay with Miller being traded
- Mentions how it is a club option on Tocchet’s contract
- Boeser thinks the drama has affected the team’s on-ice play
- Wonders if Boeser still wants to be a part of the organization
It's pretty obvious Boeser is going to be playing in Minnesota next season.
Only question is if we trade him there directly, or as a rental somewhere else and hopefully get one of those deadline deal steals.
Moving JTM only makes moving off brock easier, it's fully EP, hughes, Debrusks team to lead. (Plus trade return assets)
Kypreos is not someone worth listening to.
If the Canucks don't know what it'll take to sign Boeser at this point, wtf are they doing. I don't see it as particularly large leap here.
like rain on your wedding day.Where the plants get watered?
i would say they know the % of cap he wants but next year's cap is still not announced. If the Canucks don't know what it'll take to sign Boeser at this point, wtf are they doing. I don't see it as particularly large leap here.
TBH, it's probably ego / an element of not wanting to look stupid. If you flip a 2nd round pick for Derek Roy and that doesn't pay off - you don't look really THAT dumb. People can call you out for being cautious but whatever. If he doesn't work out for you, it's not like you gave up a lot. You tried to bargain hunt and it didn't work out, oh well. It's low risk, low reward but *if* it works out, you look like a genius.Sometimes you got to wonder if NHL GMs are more interested in winning trades than winning hockey games. Like how many years of Panarin/Shersterkin's prime did the Rangers waste by not stepping up for JTM last time he was available? 2 playoff run with a 90+pts 1C for 5.25m, and they pass because of Schneider!? Now they have another chance to get him and best they can do is Chytil Lindgren and a conditional 1st?

The issue is largely, I would imagine, term more so than dollars.
