Grub's Canucks & NHL News, Rumours, and & Fantasy GM | Hockey Starts Now

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

If they keep Bains as the spare forward then they must be comfortable with Joshua as the fifth option at centre. The other possibility is that Raty replaces Bains in the near future.

Yes dont see how Colorado doesn't take him. Even NYI are in injury trouble but Colorado is decimated

Makes sense waiving Aman.

Creates more cap space to eventually trade for a dman.

Have Raty in Abby if needed.
Yeah I was just going to say Aman is a big add for Abbotsford. He may not provide offense in the NHL but in his few stints in the AHL he has been productive. 9 points in 17 games the first go around, and 15 points in 15 games in the other. I recall he and Karlsson working well together so whenever Karlsson is back Abbotsford will have 2 good top 6 pairs in Raty/Lekkerimaki and Aman/Karlsson. That also pushes Sasson down to be the 3rd line center unless one of those guys moves to wing.

EDIT: Woops, yeah I'm not even considering the strong possibility he gets claimed here. Damn....

EP would be better as a winger maybe.

So Allvin gonna need to trade for a top 6 C along with upgrading that defense.

Is it really worth losing a depth center to keep Bains in the lineup? I really don't understand tocchet's desire to keep Bains up with the club other than he plays a little like PDG

Very unfortunate that both Guentzel and Reinhart never went to market, because if they had I firmly believe we would have landed one of them. They're both scoring at an elite rate right now and well worth their larger contracts.

Would like to see a good amount of those shots going in, but that an encouraging start.

I expect we'll see him in the top six before too long. We severely lack one shot scoring players that can score from any angle.

Yes there was some rumblings about that last night on HNIC

A bit strange they would expose Amen right now. Has to be as good as gone.

With Joshua coming back it made the most sense to just send down Bains and use his waiver eligibility.
It's great seeing Lekkerimaki fire 6 shots a game and Raty get going with a 3 pt night but keeping our depth and having some patience seems like prudence No?

Reinhart was the guy that I wanted the Canucks to use the 2021 9th overall to grab. And it would've been a legitimate offer, relative to what he actually fetched. Panthers, coming off of a top-four regular season and figuring to be strong again the next season, gave up their 2022 1st (turned out to be 28th overall) and a good-not-elite goalie prospect.

Very interested in what happens in Boston over the next two months. Off to a slow start, and if that continues and they look to do a mini re-tool, there's a bunch of decent blueliners there that could become available.

The bottom might come out with the Islanders with all their injuries, but given Lou's age I don't know if they'll ever actually commit to rebuilding.
