Hronek?
Hronek?
A trade upcoming?
Hronek is the most likely scenario but until after the road trip.
1. 9 and 40 were never best friendsAssume I was in a coma, what happened between 9 and 40 to cause these trade talks? Was there actually anything, or is it all just speculation?
6. Players, coaches, and GM have also all more-or-less directly said it's a problem.1. 9 and 40 were never best friends
2. Canucks D gets decimated
3. The team struggles
4. Media pounces on it, blaming the struggles on the supposed rift
5. The org sucks at PR allowing the media run rampant
Unless it's rental for rental that they think they can re-sign.
Bold of Tocchet to throw away an NHL defenseman with this rosterNot surprised based on Tocchet's comments yesterday.
He is an NHL player in the right situation but it was never going to be here under this coaching staff.
i don't like tocchet much and think his lineup decisions are generally terrible but brannstrom isn't anything. there's zero reason to be upset about him not playing or even going on waivers
Think the frustration is he can play and actually move the puck.i don't like tocchet much and think his lineup decisions are generally terrible but brannstrom isn't anything. there's zero reason to be upset about him not playing or even going on waivers
I think he was likely a player they were happier to have in the lineup when Hronek was present and the D group was more stable as a result.Think the frustration is he can play and actually move the puck.
He was found money and doing well when he first came here when given the opportunity.
But Tocchet likes his tree trunk dmen who can’t pass so it is what it is.

So he’s more competent than 5 of our 6 current NHL dmen but should be put on waivers?i think people have rose colored glasses when it comes to him. he looks competent because when it comes to moving the puck he's everything that forbort/desharnais/juulsen/soucy/myers aren't. but he's still not an nhl player. he can't defend. his skating is poor. he's easily pressured into mistakes. he's basically the defenseman version of sprong where he only has one skill
It's pretty clear Brisebois has passed him on the depth chart already and honestly I'm ok with that.
he had three or four games where he was good. The rest of the time he was not. He is slow, butter soft, has no special teams utility and cannot defend in zone when the other team is cycling. They obviously see no value in feeding him development minutes (i agree) so might as well move him along. I'd rather they feed those development minutes to Briesbois, Wolanin or even Kudryavetsev. So he’s more competent than 5 of our 6 current NHL dmen but should be put on waivers?
Good lord.
Juulsen has PK utility and with Hronek out that's important. he also throws his body into the line of fire at every opportunity, is very physical and willingly takes hits to try and make plays. With like half as many NHL games played, they may feel that there is at least a chance he continues to develop. There is also a cost savings.I don't even know what to say.
Can anyone honestly say Juulsen is better?
