Let me know when you've seen that for any amount of time.
Wasn’t he exactly that for the Red Wings?

Not really.Wasn’t he exactly that for the Red Wings?
Rutherford likes fast players Brock is not. Alvin likes Brock since he thinks he's a great goal scorer. I think.if they can move him in a hockey deal they will.
Assume I was in a coma, what happened between 9 and 40 to cause these trade talks? Was there actually anything, or is it all just speculation?
Great phrasing of a question that would create awkwardness in attempted answersAssume I was in a coma, what happened between 9 and 40 to cause these trade talks? Was there actually anything, or is it all just speculation?

No need for Hyperbole. Fair question if he can carry a weaker defender.It’s twenty twenty five and people still don’t think Hronek is a first pairing stud that could play away from Hughes without imploding.

Why not? What makes you think someone playing 25 highest leverage minutes couldn’t play 20 average minutes with a 4/5? He’s not Hughes who can continue to play 25 highest leverage minutes, but Hughes is also a generational talent.He can't

I hate that trade. Peterka is awesome (I’m still not a big Benson) but Cozens looks like a dud of a contract, Samuelsson is injured and getting healthy scratched, and McLeod has great PK utility but goes silent for long stretches at even strength.
No."SELL THE TEAM"
The fan chants in Buffalo, with the owner in attendance.
I expect there will be massive offers for Pettersson now, maybe an offer too good to refuse.
Canucks might be able to get a blank check, name 1 defenceman not named Dhalin and two forwards and two unprotected firsts and 2 propsects. But add Hoglander or replace the forwards from the Canuck roster. EP would be one then Hoglander and Deharnais for "fill in the blank"
Two unprotected 1rst's, two forwards and one rostered dman.
Canucks;
Pettersson
Hoglander
Deharnais
2025 2nd
Buffalo;
Cozens
McLeod
Peyerka/Benson
Samuelsson
2025 & 2026 unprotected 1rst's
Canucks already have Hughes and Hronek so Samuelsson adds to the D depth in a top 4 role
Hogs is in the doghouse
Deharnais for cap space
2025 2 nd or 3rd for show
Miller as the #1 C and Cozens as #2C or RW with Trenin/Gaudreau as #2/3 C
The three forwards add scoring depth and will all fit under the new cap space so the team can add more at the TDL, either as rentals or longer term, they could even use their own 1rst (mid 20's) as a trade asset.
Buffalo Cap space change;
Out - 11.6 + 2 + 1 = 14.6 mil + existing 1.5 mil for a total of 16 mil
In - 7.25 + 2.1 + .855 + 4.285 = 14.5 mil
A net gain of 100K for use at the TDL as well as allowing for a 1rst rnd pick for trade, 2 1rst's in both 2025 and 2026 or to add to.
Four 1rst's in two years is like 4 years of building through he draft with only losing one roster player, albeit a star player.
Then there is the possible Boeser trade with Minny.
Jiricek and Trenin or Gaudreau
Cap space change;
out - 6.65 mil
in - 3.5 + .92 = 4.42 mil
A gain of another 2.23 mil in cap space.
Two roster players out and 5/6 NHL roster players with term in so the OEL and Mikheyev buyouts are neutralized and the team still has more trade assets and is younger.
Byram would be taking a big chance on a possible future concussion, that last one almost did him in. AND the team needs more defensive type (Samuelsson) dmen and a future possible RHD stud (Jiricek) under cap control for the next 6 yrs in Jiricek.
The other "business" aspect is if any didn't work out they all have pedigree and increase the asset pool if traded. Also internal competition for spots for the younger guys Lekkerimaki and Willander, keep the best.
AND
They stay under the cap.
I'm thinking of the more human variables that go into the equation, personally. I didnt like Cozens in his draft year, but he assumed leadership of two WJC teams - one of which was proclaimed to be the best since 2005 (which was always laughable, IMO). He has at least *shown* something at the NHL level unlike other busts off the top of my head. Nail Yakupov would have killed for a 68-point season.
Samuelsson I couldn't tell you much about, I'm not much of a defenseman but from what very little I've seen there's some intelligence there. You aren't buying high on any of these guys, so there is risk. But you don't get to drink the juice without a bit of squeeze.
In plain English for us idiots please.Because he hasn't already. He's not an anchor guy, he's a transitional guy. He's like fibre. He keeps shit moving. Which is fantastic, but you look at the team we have currently and there is absolutely no one who can buoy that ability.
He has utility, just not currently.

Samuelsson looks like a husk. Can’t even play over 55 games in a season. Was healthy scratched multiple times this season too. Peterka is the best player coming from Buffalo and view Cozens and Samuelsson as high risk bad value contracts.

They think Hronek is more likely to win "best supporting actor" rather then "best actor " because they haven't had their breakout role yet.
Plus Fibre and shit references.
Some guys good at move puck, some guys good at stay home.
Need both to make a proper pair.
What was Byram being called a couple years ago? I can't remember. You have to refresh that for me.
