Grub's Canucks & NHL News, Rumours, and & Fantasy GM | Go Your Own Way

It's like when this site changes schemes. Tends to just suddenly happen without any leaks!

I miss this layout.

I agree, that layout was the best. Oh, the nostalgia. I miss my inbox turning blue!

One less than bold prediction......that 'scouting guy on the radio' will go to ground when Wilander debuts in a Canuck uniform sometime in mid-March.
I don't even believe it was said, Guardian says stuff and if you find the source something completely different was said

I don’t know if Gillis knows any more than anyone else, and he didn’t imply he did, but he did think the situation was at an end and would build around Pettersson.

Well JPat was famously denied access to JR's presser before he joined S&P?

He was denied after joining S&P. Was allowed back in after some combination of fan pressure, joining canucks army, or starting to write for daily face-off, I can't recall which.

He started to fade as the tournament went deeper. He was still good but his last two games were average.
Interesting take. The Canucks believe his last two games were his strongest. I definitley agree. He was more assertive and I can't recall a single poor outlet pass. His skating was also tremendous in the bronze medal game

The Hockey News is when he got back in. Shortly afterward started with CanucksArmy and stopped at THN. The Nation Network owns both S&P and CanucksArmy and that’s where the media accreditation comes from.

Is your reasoning that Zadorov would be a good partner for Willander?
Yes but more than that. If Willander makes a quick and effective transition we have 3 yrs of a ELC that makes the search for a 2/3 unnecessary and eases the overspend on Zadorov.

If they think Willander will take a couple years to be effective then i can see more caution for that financial commitment and desire to hold their cards to get a better player than Zadorov

Essentailly we could have had a balanced effective defense with Hughes Hronek pushing teams back then Willander Zadorov Soucy Myers with what i believe an internal replacement for Soucy even in DPetey.

We're back boys! I am ashamed to admit how many times I checked to see if the site was back up.

I had a kid show up a few weeks ago so I'm off work for a bit, and this place has been my primary entertainment while nap trapped on the couch.

Glad to have you idiots back!

That's going to be my situation soon too whenever the little one decides to join us. (couple days over due. )

i thought his game against Finland was pretty much flawless.
Missed first half of the bronze. Wasnt as good from what i saw but he had 5 SOG. I was thinking he might have been a bit rattled after that brutal call cost them the game
