Debrusk was brought in to give Pettersson a better linemate and to get Pettersson going, so I highly doubt that Pettersson is on the block.
If Pettersson were to be on the block it would be a tough trade to win unless he is traded for a similar type of player. Tkachuk would be great target but then it would leave a huge void at center.
I think trading Boeser at this point would be more realistic, what if the Canucks could get Byram and Cozens for Boeser? I would highly consider it.
Trying to create trades right now is tough because it's either all in, or a quick retool. If the Canucks are going all in, then they really don't have much to trade other than picks and prospects. If we are doing a retool, Miller, Boeser or even Demko should be considered as potential targets to trade.
Sometimes I wonder if you traded Miller, Boeser and Demko into 3 separate packages would the Canucks be able build a more complete team quicker than sitting on the core that they already have.
Theoretical
Miller - Cozens, Byram
Demko - Jarvis, Morrow
Boeser - You get the point
In all reality I think Friedman spitballed at the wall and it stuck, now he has everyone talking about something he completely made up.
Changes need to be made though, and they don't necessarily need to be big ones. Start with Hoglander and Desharnais first, then go from there.
