WTH is your coach doing? Would liked to see the OTHER Pettersson also.. Hopefully Dahlin is okey, and not injured etc..
Hersley is okay again and with him back in the team there is no place for Dahlin according to Grönborg.

Guess Dahlin is simply not a "gedigen hockeyspelare" that you can go to war with.

Hersley has the best slap shot in the KHL and one of the best in the world. Of course, he sucks defensively, but he can always score that PP goal, that will make the team a winner. Dahlin is 17 yo wonderkid, who still isn't ready to become a decisive factor at the Olympics... Coach's logic is obvious, and it's hard to argue against it.

Absolutely. Scratching Dahlin now is just the logical decision. How they didn't even test him against Germany, Norway and Canada in the exhibition is just beyond me though.

Dahlin not playing? Come on, that was one of the main attractions of this game.

Of course. I agree. It's not Hersley that should sit out. It's players like Fransson or Bertilsson that I question.

I understand people desire to watch this kid play. But I somewhat disagree with people's criticism of Gronborg in this situation. It's not Gronborg's job to make this tournament more appealing to the audience. The only thing he should be focused on is winning gold. Despite the tournament not having NHL'ers, that is still the goal.

Dahlin ranks 3rd in icetime on his own club team. Him being the 7th defenseman on this olympic team isn't nearly as controversial as people make it out to be. The one thing I'll say is, Gronborg should either play Dahlin or he shouldn't have selected him for this team at all. Simply because having him in the press box can be disturbing for the coaches and the team, as media and fans constantly keeps bringing it up.

And that's the big issue. If he's selected he must at least be tested, Grönborg had 3 chances to do so including a meaningless exhibition game. Now it's too late, he won't play a minute more unless someone gets injured or they find themselves in a placement game. Also find it very strange how Dahlin was thrown into the top PP like he's some kind of PP specialist, he's barely played on the PP this season except for the WJC. If that's the type of player they are missing then they could have just have brought in a Nygren, Rundblad or Pilut instead.

Bothers me that they select a player only to get more media attention. Not fair to Rasmus.

Exactly. He could've gotten good time in those games if Grönborg actually wanted to try him out. But it is understandable that he doesn't get a lot of time

Wow, is it actually true they are scratching Dahlin?? Why even bother bringing him to Korea in the first place then? Was looking forward to getting a good look at the kid on the big stage.

Nope, he's way too skilled för Grönborg's liking. I mean, he can skate really well, pass the puck and even deke by an opponent. Not exactly Grönborg D-man material. Dumping the puck out of the zone and hitting the lone spectator in the G standings with your slapshot is more like it.

A Grönborg kind of guy must be slow as hell and be devoid of as much puck skills as possible, apparently. Weird approach for a national team on big ice, but that's his choice. He probably tries to match Damkronorna.

Why is it always an incompetence contest that decides which moron will be coach for the national team? If a majority of the Swedish national team coaches over the years would make a bet on which is faster, a rabbit or a turtle, my guess is most coaches would vote on the turtle, with the explanation "it is faster, because it has more grit" or some nonsense like that.

This finnish hostess in Korea is cringe.
Well, her style would fit an American broadcast much better than Finnish, that's for sure.

Hoping for a good game, not a must-win game though so hard to get too exited about it. Eventhough it is against Sweden.

Let's go!
