The way I see it, the issue tonight has been -- even though this is a term I normally have nothing but the deepest disdain for -- softness. The Danes have played a physical game and worked very hard, and so those nifty tick-tack-toe plays that were so productive against previous opponents have disappeared. Coming up with alternative ways to score has proven to be too much to ask of these players so far.

Amen. Somehow, Marjamäki has assembled a defense, where every single defender is absolutely worthless in 1-on-1 battles. Because the breakout is slow by default, the Danes repeatedly pin them to their own zone with forecheck. Rinse. Repeat.

No forecheck, no grit. Marjamäki plays his Worl-cup passive hockey again. He never learns.
Playstyle looked much better and more fresh in the first three games but now it's merely a distant memory...

The best player this evening by the Finns is in my eyes Husso. He kept the Finns in the game with 2 or 3 big saves. Otherwise it would stand 3 or 4-1 for Denmarkl

... And just as I get off my podium after calling them out for their overreliance on nifty little plays, they score into an empty net after a no-look backhand cross-crease pass between a defenders legs.
