Nobody enjoying Laine's 2nd?

We all, but today we were probably outcoached by Germans (they won by simply not ****ing around) which annoyed some.

Yeah, now laine barkov have more gasoline tomorrow, but we also used other lines bit too much, specially some players. Now they need to dress different player maybe even and scratch some one.

I dislike Jalonen as a coach. I think Pihlström has played more minutes than Laine this game. Here is not the best Team Finland possible, but the coaches own pets. The likes of Pihlström, Pyörälä, Salmela, Hietanen dont belong here.
I think Jalonen is a bit too conservative. Too much emphasis on defence. Especially now when you could create 3 (maybe even 4) offensive lines.

Maybe Jalonen just decided to give few guys their last chance toning. So they got the ice time to prove if they belong or not. Now we can dress new guys tomorrow. I want to see Rantanen back.

Overall, not that big of a deal. But giving your best lines enough time to gel is also important. Nevertheless, nice win.

Tomorrow, when Laine, Barkov and co are rested - you will think Jalonen a genius..
Good coaching to rest the best.

I think it should be clear that Laine plays PP with Granlund and Koivu. Heck, my PP units woudl be:

Koivu - Granlund - Barkov
Laine - Lindell
(Barkov front of the net, Koivu and Granny playmaking, Laine shooting, Lindell just being there.

Jokinen - Komarov - Aho
Hietanen - Pokka

Well, obviously us Finns can gripe even if we rather effortlessly beat a traditionally very annoying opponent and have a young talent that really, really does remind many people of very great legends indeed. As a nation we are a gripe machine...

Not a surprising result, entertaining to see Laine getting 3 pts in less than 15 minutes of ice time.

Its because no one gives a flying F over how much this game ends. For an experienced hockey watcher the entertainment in these games is all about fresh players with future ahead of them - not with some old boring faces in their decline earning the ice time with achievements from 5 years ago.

I do. I just want us to win. Been watching hockey about 30 years. Can't remember a team that has only perfect players or a team that always playes perfect games. Every team needs experienced players whether you like it or not.

We won? What did we win? :D

Coach vs Coach game. German got the puck posession, momentum along the game because we played tricks with lines. Our offensive flow was 100% lost in the process.

Well I hope we are more fresh "than we should" tomorrow and Jalonen is found out as great strategist "gambler".

The game tomorrow will be interesting. Line changes are coming.. At least on special teams.

I'm not sure if I heard correctly, but based on what KJ said, we might see Laine-Koivu-Granlund tomorrow.

Yep, I hope we'll learn from this defeat.

Is critics so hard to accept? I'm not saying we sucked or so. But I think it should be allowed to think if this really helps our lines get going?

Apparently. Wonder if he's not been pleased with the efforts of Laine - Barkov - Jokinen. If so, why?

I understand the using of checking lines and energy lines in the NHL. Here however there are 0 salarycap. You should always use your best players in theese tournaments. Ofcourse you have to have 2-way players in defensive lines, but Finland have plenty. We could actually have had an offensive lineup as this:

Laine-Barkov-Kuusela
Jokinen-Koivu-Granlund
Komarov-Ramstedt-Aho
Granlund-Koskiranta-Rantanen

There is 4 lines that can score. Why the **** do we have Pyörälä, Pihlström and Sallinen on ice and not theese?

A stupid question. How does Patrik Laine pronounce his first name? I know two finnish speaking Patriks... One Pronounces it is Paatrik, the other kinda like Pattrikk. If that makes any sense.

Well, I just think it's absurd. I'm sure back bench coaching is very rewarding but I just respect people who have the actual responsibility for actual results. And those are my measure, actual results.

I think it's pronounced like it's written: Patrik, so short vowels with slight stress on the first syllable - no Swedish extra emphasis like "pattrikk". (And obviously no English pronounciation of "phätrikh" with the soft "r" and aspirations.)
