I don't really care where we place in the top 4. All the playoff teams are at a high level, and even if Russia are the highest we'd need to beat them to win the gold anyway. Don't care about silver, so losing to them in the semis or the finals wouldn't make a difference.

It was a very close game. Switzerland dominated the 1st period, Sweden came back.
Last years final could have gone either way too. Fiala almost won it in OT.

Why? On paper, sure, but the swiss have the ability to challenge even best on best teams.

They sure as hell aren't ten times better then the Swiss, don't know why some fans of the traditional big powers still feel this way.
Their top end guys are certainly good enough to produce a win against Sweden in a single game setting this isn’t a best of 7 type of deal. This is going to be close.
Thats just excuses... the reality is that there is no excuses for Sweden to lose this game.
Switzerland is a good team but they arent on the same page as Canada,USA,Finland,Russia,Czech Republic when it comes down to it.

They are certainly on the level with all their best players against the Czechs, and can beat any of the others you mentioned on any given day in a one game affair once in awhile.
Not excuses, just like every game they loose I’ll be critizing them if they loose today. Doesn't you should approach the game like that you ALWAYS need to take Switzerland seriously PERIOD. With your line of thinking the players would look as disinterested as we accuse the russians of doing against pretty solid opponents and subsequently loose a whole bunch of games.
But Yeah sure lets do that: Okay guys just go out there and win. Don’t worry to much about paying attention to detail and give all your effort like you usually do. Those swiss scrubs(who made the GMG last year)don’t have half your talent and should be intimidated and humbled by your mere presence.

I'm allways taking game seriously... I still remember Salt lake city.
Thats why I'm saying nothing than a victory is acceptabel by this team.
And everything else is just excuses for them not to win... I don't have the same excpectations on our football team because I know they arent good enough to fight for the medals... But in this game I have excpectations we will win.
Yeah that’s more understandable. And I do ofcourse think Sweden is better on paper but this is a single game setting, had it been a best of 7 as in the playoffs It wouldn’t have been close. But this is not that.
Fair enough! I mean I dont expect us to win with 9-1 or something like that, but i expect us to win the game. I may be unfair to have this expectations on our hockey team and not our football team.

I think every swede who watches both sports have higher expectations on tre kronor. Anything else would be ridiculous. But you have to remember that while Sweden may be comparable to France or Germany, Switzerland is like Croatia, Belgium or Portugal.

Even without their best players they are able to beat Czechs, still it’s very rare occasion when they beat us.

Have to admit I loled. But one thing is interesting the whole ”Swiss people like chocolate” thing, I understand where it comes from. But at the same time if they like chocolate they sure know how to handle it because they have the lowest rate of obesity in Europe.
It's just a stereotype of thing that we from other countries use to joke around about. Swiss people probably doesn't like chocolate anymore than people from let's say France?
People from other countries probably making jokes about us swedes loving meatballs or something

And Finland... if we call about achievements last 7 years, they are way above Czech republic and USA.
