Well, not a lot to tell your grandchildren about in this game, take the three points and move on.

I was thinking test Aho there, he has chemistry with Laine and knows how to play defense,
put Jokinen and Rantanen to 3rd line to give some depth.

I agree, no matter how much I like Jokinen, he doesn't seem to mesh with Laine. Laine + Barkov works wonderfully though, and it's no surprise that all goals for that pair seem to come when Laine is on the left side of the rink.

Yup. I would take out Jokinen.

At least switch Barkov and Jokinen on the PP. Just brutal passing by Jokinen all night.

This guy today!

Congrats buddy! :)

The Hungarian crowd singing their anthem after Finland's. Awesome and perfectly deserved for their team. :handclap:

It's good to have games like this, since our lineup seriously needed/needs shaking up. So take the win, the points and be happy the lesson attached to them did not come with a sour note. It's better to be caught with your pants down vs. Hungary than any of the top countries.

Gratz to Team Hungary though and their fans. I kinda know how this experience must be to them, makes me think of Finland in basketball.

Best players for Leijonat in this game and the whole tourney in no particular order: Barky, Komarov and Koivu. Whole team sucked today but the big boys were able to pull their weight when it mattered.

ps. I think SM-Liiga GM's should at least offer Vay a tryout. Big guy, good movement but crappy technique. With good coaching he could be a legit starter for a professional team in the future.

With Banham Hungary would've won this 5-3 and that's the trufs dog :).

File watches basketball, that's new. I'm high on NT basketball as well.

I'm a team sport nut. Hockey is my main venue, hands down, but I actually watch all kinds of games across the field. Basketball, soccer, volleyball, floorball... It's beneficial. One can draw teachings and positive experiences from all of them to hockey rinks as well.

Heck, I even found myself watching goalball when the Paralympics were on.

TSN headline:

Laine sets record as Finland beats Hungry :help:

Disgusting propaganda.

"Don't draft a Finn at #1, they pick fights in weenie kiosk lines."

It's not like because they're hungry, but because they're annoying or/and out-of-towners.

Goalie Juuse Saros, who backstopped Finland to the 2014 World Junior gold medal, got his second career Worlds shutout after debuting last year in the Czech Republic with a 3-0 win over Slovakia. Remarkably, Saros, a Nashville Predators prospect who plays for the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals, has never allowed a goal at the Worlds.

"Our goaltender was good today," said Finnish coach Kari Jalonen. "He didn’t have a lot of shots, but played really well for us."

I hope the Coach will remember to this words when he make decison for the close games, because the three games Koskinen play he wasn`t well for sure

Gg by hungary, they played with hearts. Finland came to this game jackets open and arms swinging, rare to see that kind of finns.
