Hetényi, who played mediocre against Canada, has already played in the Liiga and the Mestis. It is not impossible for a Hungarian goalie to get a Finnish contract.

If he keeps it up for a few more games, I think he'll definitely get an offer from at least a second division somewhere(Mestis or Allsvenskan maybe). He's young and big, and seems very athletic too, so plenty of scouts will be giving him consideration. Also agents.

Go Hungary!!! Laughing at those 100-0 and 10-0 predictions. I knew the Hungarians would come out tough.

Upset alert?

I don't know how many games he will get. He is supposed to be the 3rd string goalie, so just because of this game, I'm not sure if he gets at least two games the rest of the way.

Mos def! Hungarian hockey fans are awesome. Gotta hope it has an effect on the country and there will be more investments made towards hockey.
There's plenty already, and if MAC Budapest goes to the EBEL, and maybe Miskolc to the Slovakian league, the level of play and the amount of money will only go up. We have a very promising young generation, as shown by the 4 U20 players we have in this squad.

However, I think this is our worst game so far, but we've been lucky and Vay's been excellent. 39 shots in two periods is way too much, we limited Canada below 40, Slovakia below 30 and France below 25, so this is unusual.

It's been seen before. Weaker team plays their hearts out and a hot goalie and you have a tight game.

Also it's basic probability that if a given shot has a 10% chance of going in, there will be quite long periods of no goals scored surprisingly often.

Crazy things always happen in international hockey.

Finns are becoming a superpower, you're going to get every teams best game.

Very good to hear, it's important for there to be enough possibilities for young talented players to play professionally. Btw what is the MOLleague like? Professional? Semi professional?

That's still mostly on potential, like World Cup this is transition time still, best players being 17-21y.

Fully professional, all teams have quality foreigners as well (many Finns, too). Brasov didn't take it seriously this year because of some stupid stuff going on in Romania, but they have been very good in previous years too.

My cousin got an offer to play in Hungary. He went to Allsvenskan instead. But he really considered Hungary too.
