Great game by the Czechs, well deserved win.

Sweden looks weak and the lines doesn't add up at all. Why is Nygård not on this team?

Thanks! But don't worry, there will very probably be a different Swedish team throughout the next games.

Swedish friends, calm down. Jaškin dived once after a cross-check and got the penalty for it. Other Swedish penalties were clear fouls, as well as the Czech penalties. The only wrong referees' decision which went against Sweden was Simon's high sticking in the third period. He should get the penalty for it, but the referees apparently didn't notice it in the rush. Otherwise I didn't notice any clearly bad call, some of them might be questionable but that's hockey.

Voracek...ugh cant stand this player hehe

I would like to see the replay once more. Judging by what I've seen it pretty looked like one big dive.

The mind boggling thing though is, I've never seen him do that before. He is known to be very emotional but not unsportsmanlike.

Well deserved win for our team, good start in tournament, I think Ekholm should hold on his nerves better, Gudas owned him in this today. I am really happy from game intensity, but it was just 1st game. Swedes were a little bit upset from losing, iirc last year when we lost 2-3 with Sweden, our players weren't so mad as Swedes were today, grow up guys it's just a sport.

Great win by the Czechs. Perfectly executed game.

For Sweden, I loved Lander's game. Such a great team player. Lindblom very smart with some good decision. A. Kempe brought some good speed and offensive zone entries. EP a treat to watch as always. Too bad he did not get to use that release more.

On the downside, the d pairing of Pettersson-Hägg. I can barely understand they are regular NHLers and now... on the larger surface they looked so lost at times. Ouch. That is some poor scouting by Grönborg and his friends imo.

upset is a gross for everyone.. that means normal reaction.

Maybe its just different cultures but I cant stand the diving. Killed my mood.

This is not about different cultures. Diving has no place in ice hockey at all irrespective of where it is played.
The dives were embarrassing to watch and should not happen. The Czechs are known for physical plays but not for unsportsmanlike behavior.

However pretending that the dives ruined the game for you is like saying that the Czechs heavily relied on them to win or that they were somehow key in today's victory for us/defeat for you - which is not the case at all.

I was told Swedes had a superior coach and the best D cast in the tournament. Maybe it's all deception:dunno:

I really noticed only Jaškin clearly diving after he was actually cross checked, but apparently wanted to "show the refs that is was a foul" - this is wrong, I don't like these attempts neither. Regarding other penalties against Sweden, they really were all deserved.

Funny fact: The Czech TV commentators were pretty biased too, emphasizing how the Swedish players are nervous and dirty, starting skirmishes after the whistle is blown and so on. This was of course not true, the skirmishes were elicited by both teams equally, but our commentators can really be not just emotional but also this much biased.
