Yeah, don't know what's happening to the Czechs, they played really well against Russia. Maybe it's a mental block or something, underestimating the opponent.

It is more pathetic than any last year game (Yes, the year where Prerost was the coach)

**** this team, drafted players like Spacek or Chlapik are completely invisible and our best forward is Lakatos... jesus.

After Russia v Czech rep. game I had high hopes, not anymore. This team will get ass kicked against Finland and then USA, who will be the most likely quaterfinal opponent will blow out us. Exciting future for czech hockey.

Agreed. Belarus deserve huge credit here, they're winning this because they want that win more, the Czech team is obviously more talented.

Pasternak and Spacek are good though, don't get carried away :D.
 
This Belarus team could've been last or second to last if they had played in the D1A tournament a couple of weeks ago. They just don't have a very good crop of players this year.

Their goalies are terrible, they have several players from USPHL Premier, MHL B (it's another Tier III junior league, basically) and the Belarus 2nd division in their line-up. Seriously, it sounds very similar to the Kazakhstan U20 team we faced in D1A.

So, yeah, I would be embarrassed as well.

I mean, yes this is terrible game. But let's not be that pessimistic, we are obviously more talented team and we are playing down to opponents level. It happens to a lot of teams, on all level of hockey sometimes. Belarus is playing real good. We probably underestimated them.

Anyway, the only game which matters now is quarterfinal, we should have healthy Zacha, Rasner there. And I believe our team will show absolutely different level of play, doesn't matter if it will be Sweden, USA or Canada.
 
What I somewhat notice about the Czech offence is that they're very good at entering the zone and 'setting up' their positions, but they need to create more situations where they 'fool' the defence and leave forwards alone vs. the goalie.
 
That moment right there, instead of the Czech play just going around the net, he should've passed the puck, a Czech forward was open in front of the net.
