If they play like today, it is possible.

That being said, czech team perfomace was absolutely pathetic, could have easily lost this. They will need to play MUCH better to at least keep close score against Finns/quaterfinal opponent.

I have no doubts that they will play much better.

Despite the comeback, and better play in 3rd period, our team should still feel embarrassed... It is unacceptable to play like that.

Sounds like it's good i wasnt watching this game. But seriously guys take it easy. Have you not seen Czech in the juniors in the past? Remember losing 3-0 to Germany a couple years ago? After beating Finland. It's a mental thing. Czech have traditionally never blown-out the crappy teams.

That isn't a very good excuse though. They came very close to losing against a team that should have no chance.

We are not so confident yet in postion of the favourite of the game. I pretty much like our game so far, except we are not creating chances and our star offensive guys dont shine or are injured. We will probably have more room for counter attacks against stronger opponents. But I doubt they will underestimate us so if we dont change it, it would be very tough for us....

This is true. But same goes for Canada. On paper Switzerland should not come close. But.... They did. Hockey has way more elements to it then strictly skill. I'm not making an excuse for the Czechs. Like frig it's embarrassing. I'll have to go back and watch the game. But that's hockey. These are just kids. It happens.

This Belarus team could've been last or second to last if they had played in the D1A tournament a couple of weeks ago. They just don't have a very good crop of players this year.

Their goalies are terrible, they have several players from USPHL Premier, MHL B (it's another Tier III junior league, basically) and the Belarus 2nd division in their line-up. Seriously, it sounds very similar to the Kazakhstan U20 team we faced in D1A.

So, yeah, I would be embarrassed as well.

Agreed, guy from Latvia is just trying to downplay Belarus performance (which was very good in all games) from this WJC. It's laughable to say that Belarus would be last or second to last in 1st division. Belarus could easily crush Latvia. Dzierkals is not a savior.

If only Belarus could have all their best players who recently chose Russian citizenship because of the new limits for foreign players. Karnaukhov, Kodola, Lonovenko... Russia doesn't have enough own players, they steal Belarusian kids.
