Finland found itself in a new position in 1992 when the worlds was expanded from 8 to 12 teams.

From then on there were always going to be so-called easy matches which Finland was supposed to win.

Even though in the 8-team worlds Finland never really had to fear about relegation yet every match was a very serious affair and never to be expected to be easy.

Finland's just awful to watch against these weaker countries for the past several years. What happened to fun offensive hockey?
Let's not forget that this is a sort of Liiga selection. Of course, you can't expect "hockey from another star"; because of this.
One can be all in all very satisfied with the performance of the "no-name" team.

According to the comments here it was a rather bad game from Finland and also Kakko didn't have his best evening. But it's better for Finland to have bad games at this stage of the tournament and against teams like Great Britain because they can win against such teams even they are playing bad. And concerning Kakko he is only 18 years old it's a human right not to play every game on world class level. Finland needs Kakko more in top form in the quarterfinal when it counts and it's better when the whole team improves his performance again when it counts in quarterfinal.
