Eventually a solid starter whether that's in CLB or somewhere else in the NHL. Probably not going to be a perennial contender for the Vezina though. He is an extremely good system goalie but can't control the pace of the game if he's hung out to dry

So given that Columbus has a very good set of defensemen, that sounds like an ideal place for him.

USA has a lot more skill and speed for the 3v3, might be our downfall.

A just result I think, exiting game so far. Sad that we won't have 5on5 continous OT...

USA just looks like the smaller team: Kane, DeBrincat, Gaudreau, Vatrano, etc... they are getting pushed by the bigger Finnish players. But they skate well when the have the puck in space.

As for Hughes, not worried because he hasn't gotten a lot of ice time or room.

Apart from that one time he had a gift rebound from Vehviläinen during the first period I haven't noticed Hughes at all.

Hopefully they'll put him on the ice during OT, I want to see what he can do with the puck.

Thoughts on Q Hughes today
seems to be restrained a bit - had a beautiful end to end last game, but nothing like that today. I would say all three of our young dmen are playing cautious - Hughes, Fox and Wolanin who all can skate and create out there seem to be just playing safe which is not their strength.

My home town guy Veini Vehvilainen was very good 2/3 of the game. Luckily for me it was the first 10min I did not see. ☺️

Have you ever seen a guy look as disinterested at Kane does in this tournament?
