This Kuusela guy has IMO been very bad. Constantly struggles with the puck and makes bad decisions. No clue why he was chosen to debut at this level at the age of 36.

You are a finn right? Why try talking like you are from NY ?

It's nice to see that not only Kakko can score. Pesonen and Ojamäki the scorer for Finland in this game. That's good for the team.

Kakko seems like he really enjoys battling in the corners. He hasn’t lost the puck in this game at all and he always has the puck in tight spaces

I don't see Kane as looking disinterested. His line is making plays up the ice that are his sort of plays - moving to open ice, passes to dangerous areas, etc.... He's not going to be a board warrior and go win pucks on a cycle, that isn't his game. Give him a rush or moving in transition? Sure, that's going to be dangerous, but putting him out with DeBrincat isn't exactly going to lead to a lot of wall wins during puck battles.

The homer in me is pretty sad that we did not get to see a sniper like Boeser play with kane or eichel.

I blame jimbo for not extending him yet lol

What is with the commentators' constant narrative that Kaako plays more than Hughes? Hughes had more ice-time than Kaako in the first 2 games and had 0 points. That's a fact. Stop making excuses for the kid. He's getting less ice-time in this game for that reason.

I would have liked to have seen Ristolainen play in an environment where he might have some fun and maybe iron his game out. Instead, he bailed on the invite. That makes another player who has publically spoken about the mental toll playing for the Sabres has taken on him joining Kulikov, Lehner, O'Reilly, Josefson, Antipin and Berglund in that regard. It's like a stretch in solitary.

I hate when Ristolainen declines. He never has a real reason to say no.

I wanted him to go this year, badly. He needs a stretch of play that puts some life back in him. And he probably needs a good therapist for what Buffalo has done to him.
