Germany wins this 1-0, Finland out shoots them 52-11, Puljujarvi and Hintz hit the post 5 times each.
I would like to say something about the good old trademark pessimism that Finnish hockey fans have, but the only thing I can really say is that this is a very believable prediction based on what has happened in previous games. It's also highly likely that Kapanen, Ikonen and Mustonen will continue to suck but still get more playing time than the Aho-Kalapudas-Puljujärvi line.

BTW, assuming that Husso is the starter for the QF as well, this has been the worst possible way to handle the "positive problem" we had with the goalie rotation.

1-0 Germany, Finns have 80 shot attempts, 20 hit the post, 30 are blocked and the rest just miss the net. Germany scores when Husso falls asleep in his crease.

Really, I'm just hoping we can squeeze a win out of this match. Puljujärvi has to open the ketchup bottle, he's getting so many chances. 2 goals might not be too optimistic for him.

I think Finland will win, whether it's 1-0 or 6-1, could go any way really.

I would probably let Honka rest this one, or at least bench him if we secure a good lead. His knee would have more time to recover that way. Otherwise I agree keeping the line-up intact, can't see any extra benefit with mixing it up at this point.

I doubt Germany wins this game. They just don't seem to be at the same level as other teams. I would think Finland losing to Germany would be quite the low for the Fins. And although both Finland and the Czech have been really underwhelming this tournament, I don't think Finland is playing poorly enough to lose this game, and I don't think Germany has a chance in the relegation series either. Even if I want to see a top 7 team relegated for the fun of it.

With better finishing we could have 5 or 6 points right now. Overall we haven't been that bad.

6 - 1 for Finland.

Either we are going to see that Finland has just been getting the short end of the stick so far, or we are going to see that they aren't great after all. Would like to see the Germans win, but can't see it happening.

Calling it, 5-2 Finland.

The Swedes probably want to puke knowing that a hard earned 1st place will result in a match with the Finns in the QF. That is why having 4 QF's is a win for the fans. Who the hell wants to see more relegation round hockey? No one.

Only way to win for Finland is that Husso has shutout and we again manage score that one goal. 1-0 Finland.

cant see finns losing this knowing that its a win and move on game for a chance o play arch rival in the next round. 4-1 finns

thats my point too...5 vs 5 has not been bad, its just that they cant score, hopefully pp start working tonight.

If Germany can score more than one goal, they have a chance. They've only scored two so far(we have one more!), so I think we're safe. I think.
