I was watching the Canada-USA game on TSN and the annoucers said that the IIHF told them if Finland goes to the relegation round and loses, we either can host the tournament next year and not participate, or give up the hosting duties

If those are the options I rather give up hosting duties. It really doesn't matter if you don't host the tournament as long as you can participate. I don't think anyone in Finland, not even Kummola, is that stupid that values hosting duties higher.

Yep, you're right it'll be against Swiss which wouldn't be easy.

Given the way Denmark has been playing, there is no easy opponent in the other group.

So we're pretty lucky to face Germany here. If our guys somehow manage to bungle this one up, they almost deserve to visit the lower echelons.
