There are two types of US teams: (1) they dominate and win the tournament (2) they choke big time and end up finishing 5th or worse. There's no middle ground.

Let's see which one we get. I'm afraid it'll be the former this year because it's a cycle.

Finland is 18-13-1 vs USA all time. Finlands record vs Canada isn't good.

The US has won 6 of the last 8 meetings though, dating back to 2004.

I respect Finnish junior hockey and I think the game will be closer than many here seem to think but at this point, and with these particular rosters, I think it's fair to say a Finnish win would be an upset.

Why should he be? Husso is at least as good.

It's hard to figure who plays vs. Slovakia in the middle, but I guess Saros gets his shot vs. Canada unless Husso plays absolutely lights out here.

How has Demko played so far in the pre-tournament games?

There's been lots of commentary on USA skaters, and also (elsewhere) on the Canadian goalies, but I've seen almost nothing on Demko, which seems odd for the starting tender on a top-raked team.

Finland is a clear underdog in this game, but that is a position that seems to suit Finland the best. Goaltending and tactics are our stronghold - not the individuals.

Craig Button just talked about the Finnish goalies. He said that while Finns have been saying that Saros and Husso are pretty much at neck and neck, he'd take Saros AINEC.

I think USA is too much for Finland to handle 5 on 5, too deep. Finland will be able to pick them apart if they get on the powerplay.
