Are you doing facial, to look younger?

Sure...in the sense of, I'd rather get kicked in the nuts than shot in the head. But why would I volunteer for either?

Because those were the options (they aren't anymore with Petry's hernia surgery).

I'm not that familiar with the Dmen left in Grand Rapids so if there's someone actually viable to call up, great. But generally people underestimate the difference between defending in the AHL and NHL.

To clarify, I agree that those have been the options Detroit is stuck with this year. I'm saying that I never wanted either player on the roster to begin with - being cheap and shopping for several bottom tier players is a mess that Yzerman unnecessarily created for himself.

Having ONE of Petry / Holl / Gus would be fine. Having all three was always a bad idea. Pony up and get a real player instead of guaranteeing that you always have multiple bad options. (I don't accept that Detroit could not have gotten one of Roy, Skjei, Edmundson, Pesce, or Montour - or trade for somebody - as a legit player.)

Wouldn't hate it. Doubt he's an upgrade on Holl though.
I've been watching alot of griffin games, at least one a week use to be more, especially early when wings struggled. Even drove to two games, but... What's up with Tuomisto in your opinion?

Only really heard of skating being his issue. Saw the preseason games he played and he didn't look like an NHL player to me.

I had this sports hernia with the Habs.. had it repaired

now the tear was a little farther from the original graft...

I'll be skating after the 4 nations..

no biggie

i'll be back !!!

Was there new reporting on this, or are you just letting us all know that your own interpretation of 6-8 weeks is 12-14 weeks?
Depends on if you sort of know when he had his surgery vs the actual injury.

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jeff Petry will be out six-to-eight weeks after undergoing surgery for an undisclosed injury suffered on Jan. 2. Petry has skated multiple times since then and even joined the team for a full practice last week.

Seems like he might have gone under the last week of January/first week of February sometime there is real no specific date, but this article is February 4th. Earliest seems mid-March and that's everything going great or early April, possible retirement if there's a setback.

Yeah I went down that road a couple days ago. My interpretation is that he had the surgery close to the articles, at the very beginning of February rather than early January.

Even not buying that extra month, 6-8 weeks still has him being back a month to a month and a half before the first round is over.

(Keeping in mind that we are talking about Jeff Petry here and it doesn't really matter)
