Great photos in hockey history you've just seen for the first time (Part III)

Based on this photo, it appears Mario was fortunate to have resembled his mother more... (sorry, monsieur Lemieux)

Quite the fuzzy thing on madame Lemieux's shoulders.

My understanding is that Mario's family was quite poor. Must have been quite a day to meet Guy Lafleur back then.

Any Montrealers know if they moved the seats from the old Forum over to the Verdun Auditorium? These stairs look like the Forum but the seats look like the ones they still have in Verdun...?

In Finland they were constructing the first indoor arenas in the 1960s and wanted to create an international tournament to take advantage of the elevated public interest. Sometimes there were also visiting players like here the NHL All-Star Brewer, a year later he then returned for a full season. Ironically his partner in crime here Rantasila grew to hate him passionately and by the end of the season they didn't fit the same dressing room. Jiřík went on to become the first Eastern Bloc player in the NHL of course. The tournament lasted for seven years I think, Sir William was a brand of men's suits that acted as the titular sponsor.

Thanks. I googled it and the results I got were for “shinty” and the championship of a junior league in Canada. And I knew that was wrong

Not a photo, but close enough. We've all seen the Pond of Dreams picture and probably the video too. I had never seen the behind the scenes footage though.
