Not sure if this is appropriate given its not exactly 'historic' (from just the other night), but what a great shot

Looking at those Flames uniforms...why on earth did they ever wear anything else?

Fans of the Oakland Seals will fondly recall this gentleman, Ted Hampson. In 1968-69, Hampson put up the most points ever by a member of that franchise: 75 points (26 goals and 49 assists). Nine of his goals and 14 of his assists came on the power play. Before arriving in Oakland, Ted had primarily been a checking forward, who was very effective as a penalty killer.

For some reason, he is seen here wearing # 11 - while Hampson actually wore # 10. Gerry Odrowski - who no one ever confused with Ted Hampson (or vice versa) - wore # 11.

Eddie Shack played parts of three seasons with the New York Rangers before joining the Toronto Maple Leafs. Had Red Kelly not nixed the trade, he - Shack - would have become a member of the Detroit Red Wings a few months earlier.
