Now, Suburban Phoenix. Then, Long Island
I have been watching hockey on TV for over 60 years and broadcast games for several years on radio. The NHL Network broadcast of todays game was one of the worst presentations of a televised game that I have ever seen. I have no idea who the PXP announcer was but he sounded like some teenager who got a free ticket to the game. Mike Johnson, who is a decent studio analyst, must have been shaking his head. “Showcase” broadcasts like these are an embarrassment to the league. If they are in the NHL studios in New Jersey, at least give them taxi fare and let them go to The Garden.

I have absolutely no enthusiasm anymore after wins because this a bad hockey team relying on an unsustainable all time great performance by their goalie. Trash team and I don't care that they won. I'd rather have lost the last three but gotten bad luck. Instead we're seeing the worst defense we've seen since the dark ages. There is nothing positive to take out of these performances. They're every bit as bad as the Giants and Jets minus one player.
You sound stressed and should go do other things that you truly enjoy.

Amazed at the negativity and doom on this thread. Hahahahah. 5-2 win where the NYR were the better team. Yes Shesty was very good. So was Sorokin.
8-2-1 start and this team is “trash.” Hahahahahahaha.

Things are trending the wrong way since the return of 55.

There’s more to it than that but it’s not a coincidence.

Like, to be fair, I don't think the Rangers become an elite team if Lindgren just retires to find a job he's good at.

I do think that would instantly make them watchable. The domino effect he has on the entire defense would make Girardi blush.

With him in the bottom 4, we have to hope Miller-Fox don't have an off game or we get the Washington game. With him next to Fox, we go from one of the best pairs in the league to one of the worst.

Lo and behold, Jones and Schneider were their best defenseman in terms of xGF%. Meanwhile the other two pairings got f***ed destroyed.

Pretty sure this is just a usage thing. Jones got ~62% of his ice time against the bottom six, Trouba ~17%, and Lindgren ~49%. Jones xG numbers in his time against the top six wasn't good either.

The Washington game was on more than just one pair having an off night.

But those games happen. No reason to nuke everything.

If you ever have the time, I would suggest visiting the team boards of other "top teams". Because it's not that much better over there usually. The NHL has been numbed down to mediocrity, and whether you like it or not, the Rangers are one of the top teams on that pile of mediocrity. So even the top teams look like trash from time to time over an 82 game schedule. That's what the NHL is.

I'm not saying there is nothing to worry about, there is. But we have time to fix things.

The difference is the rangers have a better record than those two teams combined in the last 4 years.

Team needs to fix their defense. I would definitely trade Lindgren the first chance I get and honestly Miller makes a lot of mistakes. I wonder if the Rangers got crazy and upgraded both how they would do.

This was my last game for like 2 months outside of the country so I think I won't be able to watch the game. But yes I'm stressed. I thought we had a special team early in the season but then our shit for brains coach just had to insert Lindgren in the top 4 because #Warrior. With how bad the Giants are I was hoping I could watch at least one good team. But no, the Rangers are the Giants with a sprinkling of Shesterkin. Tired of watching teams that are so bad defensively they need their HOF goalie to steal the show.

Maybe. It’s not a meaningful sample but regardless the other two pairings suck.

Phillip Chytil is a low cost version of Nate MacKinnon.

Also, some of you may want to watch some other teams play before crapping all over the Rangers. The defense certainly needs to be better but I thought Jones played a good game. Lindgren needs the fishbowl removed although I do think he needs to be on the 3rd pair.
