Can someone tell me more about this Jimmy Vesey they're interviewing in the post game? Looks so young. Rookie? Undrafted?
Bill and Mary’s son. HaaVaad man you know. Spent a couple of summers with them out at the vineyard.
Like the cut of his jib.
Come to think of it l, think your niece Vivian and him would hit it off.
We should introduce them at the next Club Cotillion.

So Trouba's go to move when defending a two on one is to take himself completely out of the play by sliding past the player with the puck making it a 2 on none. Miller sees how badly this works and does the exact same thing.

For the love of God!

Thankfully we have Igor.
They both love to go full starfish when They are caught out there. Somehow they think it's a good play.

Watched it on delay. Nice to see another win. We looked pretty good in the neutral zone and O-zone, but the D-zpne is still a shambles. Not sure if it's a scheme players don't understand, or they just can't be arsed at this point of the season, but there is miscommunication everywhere. 2 instances that really stood out in terms of players not being on the same page
- early in the game the puck (and Schneider go behind our net). Jones moves out directly in front of our net and obviously expects Cuylle to push over to the other side. As the puck comes around behind our net Jones and Cuylle just end up looking at each other because they expected the other guy to have moved towards the boards
- late in the game the Isles dump it in and there are 3 guys back, all 3 basically stand flatfooted expecting someone else to retrieve the puck, so a late Isles fore-checker manages to get to the puck first

Shesty was excellent. It was Mika's most engaged game in a while. Fil is our most dynamic player to watch most of the time (until Panarin decides to do something crazy). Well deserved goal by Edstrom

Because of goaltending. Sick of it ALWAYS being because of goaltending. Even last year, a better team than this one despite having worse personnel, when Shesty was going through his crisis Quick was a wall.
I honestly don't have any idea how old you are, but do you remember the years between Richter and Lundqvist, where we really didn't have good goaltending? It was not fun.

124 shots against through 3 games. That's an unreal stat to me compounded by the fact that we got 4 points out of those by the sheer will of our goaltending. I remember someone saying in the GDT that this game is not indicative of Rangers playoff hockey, but it 100% is, lol.

This really is the issue. We can talk about this player or that player, but the root issue is that the system is putrid, especially the comical d-zone "man on man" "coverage" and the absence of any logical neutral zone approach either way. Nothing has changed from last season.

Yeah and those teams sucked and the late Richter year teams sucked. Lundqvist saved his team's bacon all the time. Then Igor did the same. But this team is reminding of the 15-16 team and it's not good at all.

Lo and behold, Jones and Schneider were their best defenseman in terms of xGF%. Meanwhile the other two pairings got f***ed destroyed.
Zac also up there - second in blocked shots.

I find it amazing that we were the best team in the league the whole time Lindgren was out.

I feel like I'm on Punk'd.
Yep. Zac in. But wrong guy out.

I have been watching hockey on TV for over 60 years and broadcast games for several years on radio. The NHL Network broadcast of todays game was one of the worst presentations of a televised game that I have ever seen. I have no idea who the PXP announcer was but he sounded like some teenager who got a free ticket to the game. Mike Johnson, who is a decent studio analyst, must have been shaking his head. “Showcase” broadcasts like these are an embarrassment to the league. If they are in the NHL studios in New Jersey, at least give them taxi fare and let them go to The Garden.
Nhl network should be banned. The overall quality of thier broadcasts is horrible - like a jr college tv dept broadcast.
Youd think that the leauge would spend some money on this deal but then again im not surprized. Unwatchable , mostly.

I like how they put the game on NHL network for a bigger audience, then black it out for the customers they already have.

What did everyone think of the new forward lines? I feel like they're more balanced and there's a ton more thinking involved in these lines than the D-pairings. Laf and Panarin can probably carry Mika, Kreider is a better finisher than Cuylle, and I think Cuylle and Smith play a complimentary style. The 4th line is much better than it's been in a while. I've said this before I think this is the best 1-12 forwards I've ever seen on this team (been watching since 2000). It pains me how poorly they've played considering their talent upfront.

Stretch pass hockey. All they do is throw the puck into open areas hoping someone's there or can skate into it. 85 feet cross ice or up ice, doesn't matter to them.

It's a small sample size but I'm okay with keeping them for a little while. The main thing is seeing how the change affects Mika's play. If Mika doesn't improve, you have to change the lines again so you don't screw Laf and Panarin.

I get expectations are high, but they are barely out of October. Its a long haul, and I'll take wins while it hopefully gets figured out. The Dzone has been bad and I think Lavi has been around long enough to see it as well.

This team has a better start than Panthers did at this point in the season last year and my point is a lot can change over a season.. Injuries/slumps are all part of it.

Its hard to be dominant every game all year and even harder to win the cup.

Ive been a rangers fan nearly 40 years and have watched a lot of bad Ranger team... the older Ive gotten Ive learned to stay away from the ledge and enjoy the ride guys.. they have flaws, but they are a very good team
