His shot will come next year, no one expected Fabs to make the entire season and picking up Kane. SY brought him up, played him to the limit for waivers then sat him to collect a fatter pay cheque, as much as the rumors are flying, SY would not have offered a contract if he didn't want him around. I see a 1 year prove it deal in the cards, and he will prove it. But no long term injuries in the top 6 messed up Berggren more than anything in 2023/24.
