What i meant that they used a high pick on him, so i think it's unlikely that they walk away from him. Unless James walks away but then it's a different story.
I guess. I'll just have to take your word for it cause his stats look unimpressive and I dont know much about his 2 way play but 4th line guys are usually a dime a dozen

I’m trying not to just “stat watch” as I have admittedly not watched any games, so would be interested in hearing opinions from those who have on how Danielson has looked. Zero points so far but maybe there’s more to the story.

I mean it was just one game but he was way bigger than I expected and moved really well

He was confident and decisive with the puck in all three zones. Definitely showed a lot of upside as a two way dman and bumped up my prospect list a little
Too early to tell , but Yzerman trade up for him. His skating was always good and he could play physically, but how hockey smart he is, big question

2nd round pick and this is his 3rd year in college, i think he will be signed. And yeah bottom-6 seems to be his projection. @Hockeyville USA seems to follow him closely, he might want to write a small scouting report?

48/50 according to puckpedia, conveniently 2 spots open. 21 contracts end after this season, naturally some will return and new players will be signed. But if we look at the goalie log jam, 4 goalies will most likely turn in to 2 and Wings start the next season in similar 48/50 situation. So no need to move anyone.
James will be signed. He would have to thoroughly underwhelm the rest of the season, which I don't expect, to not be offered an ELC. His speed and tenacity make him a good bottom 6 option in the late 2020s if he makes it. Needs to be a bit more consistent offensively, but the rest of his game is pretty projectable.

I don't know why I bother... but the "more to the story" is that he's playing his first pro season and it's been 4 low-scoring games for GR.

Yeah I've been a huge skeptic of Dvorsky ever since he couldn't cut it in the SHL, but he's producing so far. Long ways to go, obviously.

Watching Danielson in person Friday, the tools are all there, but he seems to be making 100% sure he doesn't mess up on the defensive side of the ice and that's taking priority. I think it's a matter of time. It also doesn't help when the Griffins overall just... are not a very high octane team. They've scored 7 goals in 4 games, and 1 was an empty netter. Not a ton of opportunities for points..

So they are just like the Wings is what you are saying?
