I've never rooted for the Rangers to lose, even during our very oh so brief one season rebuilding year. But I have to admit I'm getting to a bizarre point of feeling relieved when we lose the games we deserve to lose--if only because regular season W/L is the only language any decision makers in this org. speak. Nothing will improve if they keep piling points in games they have no business being in.

This strategy is a good one because we have talent up front and the supposed best goalie in the league. Unfortunately it's another slump for Igor. Every f***ing year with this guy.
It's a terrible strategy, however, when the coach continues to ice those D pairings. With Lindgren & Tuba in the lineup it's imperative that the forwards are vigilant in their own end.

Panarin was actually noticeable for a nifty back-check in the 2nd period. That was a bright spot.

I will be honest I haven't been watching the last few games and when I was it wasn't pretty. I'd be negative too. That said we outplayed them analytically. You can't be logically consistent and be pissed when they win the game but we lose the analytics battle AND when we lose the game and win the analytics battle.

Score & Venue adjusted we basically played the best team in the league to a draw at 5v5. First two periods we were the better team, 3rd we were, well...not.

I watched the whole game, we had some moments, Jets honeslt didn't look much faster than us if you can belive it, ,and went long stretches without looking dangerous. But we made so manny stupid plays, especially Mika, Miller, and some help from Trouba. Our worst players were awful, more than usual. Igot didn't lose us this game if thats what you're getting at. We didn't deserve to win.

It just wasn't as badly lopside as the last 2

I would say the goals they beat us on were soft ones. If Igor was at his best maybe we could have won. Of course, there were other issues too mainly a lack of high quality shots/deflections plus poor defense. Our defense, as usual was lacking allowing key turnovers. Kinda a sinking feeling after watching this one.

They played much better and pretty well overall but Mika & the defense, specifically miller, made some horrendous mistakes that cost us. It is what it is at this point.

If this whole notion of not giving ice time to players who are doing well instead feeding it to the "leaders" of this team sound familiar I defer to this AV quote back in that dreaded Pittsburgh series where it was deemed the coach lost the core.

“I was looking for certain matchups and sometimes within a game’s flow, certain players get lost for a couple of minutes and that’s what happened,” Vigneault said when asked why No. 42 had gotten so little time in the third period. “It wasn’t performance-related. Brendan played a good game with bite. It just happened that way.”

I want what I want
Skewed because Rangers were pressing down late at the end of the game.

If I was president for a day I would have people tar and feathered for posting the piece o' shit o'meter
First, lighten up Francis, it's a joke. Second, If we were sticking to the data that a meter like this is based off of: The Rangers had better xGF% for the 1st and 2nd than they had in the 3rd. But who the f*** cares, they lost.

I would love to see torterella coach this team. The post game presser would be epic.

Also, more and more people here are sounding like me with who they want traded and gone.

Been screaming the trade miller bit for about 3 years now.

Also saw some trade kreiders around here lately.

U guys are getting it. This core sucks, time to move on and re-tool.

Build around the nee kid line and laff.

Also, for the love of god please play mancini instead of lindgren or miller. The kid needs ice time.

MoneyPuck and DeserveToWinOMeter are f***ing garbage. So abstract from reality, i literally laugh every time i go to their site.

The implication that goaltending cost them this game is hillarious

I mean, the number one thing tonight was whether we were answering questions accurately by that poster from the Jets board who came in peace. At least it was for me.

When you beat the other team in expected goals and your goalie gives up 5, what else do you call it? Seems like the only time fans don't say vile shit about this team is if they win AND win the analytics battle. Literally can't win unless we check every box and if we don't we're the worst team ever. And mind you I'm as big of a culprit if not more than anyone. But when you miss a bunch of games and look at it dispassionately our fan base is a bunch of unhinged lunatics.

Moneypuck doesn't let me hate on this team in literally every circumstance so it's bad. Most fan bases say moneypuck is garbage when it shows their team won a game they deserved to lose. Only on HFNYR are fans angry in the reverse. As I said I get mad when we look bad and win and I get mad when we lose. But even I don't get mad because MoneyPuck is not letting me hate on the team to the max. Our fanbase is literally mad at any instance of anything positive. You'd think this we're the Jets and Giants. It's insane.

Since Henrik goalies can do no wrong on this board. And it's not because Igor and Hank aren't good, they are. It's because it doesn't allow us to stomp our feet and say that the entire roster is garbage.
