It is conjecture but imagining a pro athlete who's achieved the level of play he has suddenly developing an attitude not wanting to try hard is also conjecture and a wild one at that.

Maybe he's lost confidence, or some physical abilities, or motivation after getting paid. Making up concussion theories is wilder than any of these things.

Lavi is doing the opposite of everything like George Costanza. The default forward lines > better than current lines. The new d pairs > default pairs. Difference is, it worked for Costanza. Lavi is just f***ing it up.

Arrest this man.
Simple geometry.
Granted, we played some pretty bad teams to start the season which may have contributed to the goal share numbers. On the other hand - we got humiliated by the Sabres with the new lines and pairings.
We were good until the Washington game.

Wait so Trouba, Miller and Lindgren among others admittely individually suck but if they were just played in different combos amongst each other, the team would somehow be A okay and just be on a roll.

doesn't make sense.

Those stats about the pairings are a symptom not the cause.

The NHL is obviously hard as heck to be consistently good, and there's obviously serious doubts about the true contention of this team, they go into some deep valleys in regards to their quality of play. Too many individuals not carrying their water.

Just throwing this out there, maybe the players feel betrayed with the handling of Goodrow and Trouba during the offseason by Drury.
As fans we see bade contracts aging like milk left in the sun but to the team these are their brothers in arms and even more that both players considered leaders.
Now this year we see Mika as spent. He has no game. As Brian Boyle pointed out if Mika isn’t going to score then he needs to to something (else) and he has not or can no longer play at an NHL level.
The players might see Mika as a teammate going through a bad stretch and their coach is overreacting.

How is their coach overreacting by upgrading his linemates to the two best forward on the team?

Also, can we for the love of God stop treating these grown ass men who have accomplished more than 99.99% of the world as moody children?

The only one who's irredeemable out of those is Lindgren. He should be nowhere near Fox and nowhere near NHL ice, quite frankly.

Miller and Trouba are just awful together. Neither of them have been bad as Rangers in other pairs. Trouba is overpaid but fine, and Miller-Fox is an excellent pair. It's literally just when they're together.

That makes perfect sense, actually, as both of them are very aggressive and prone to mistakes. Neither one of them is going to cover.

I don't think anybody is under the impression that they win the Cup if they just swap the pairs around (also, firing Lindgren into outer space is not just swapping the pairs around, it's a major roster move, but I digress), but they would at least be watchable. We saw it play out earlier in the season.

You used the operative word: "Individuals" -- Rangers aren't a team...they are a bunch of individuals thrown together.

Your avatar kills me.
I'm not sure if I should be taking you less seriously or a whole lot MORE seriously.
