Andersen won a 1-0 game against Jersey, having a 40 save shutout

Campbell had a 45 save effort against Pittsburgh last year

Both of these were off the top of my head, there are definitely more

Besides, who cares if we can have a goalie steal regular season games, both those guys stole so many games in the regular season in the past, but never could in the playoffs. Hopefully Murray can do what they couldnt

Murray>Cambell/Mrazek/Andersen. He is just another level not only in terms of skill, but in overall composure and calmness. If only he can stay healthy for playoffs…

Could be just me but I am actually comfy with our goalies in net. Whether it is Murray or Samsonov. It is a weird and happy feeling at least. Kallgren still scary. Also, shouldn't it be a memory of a goldfish...I dont know much about turtle memories lmao

The true test will be how Murray (or Samsonov) play in a game where the Leafs can win the series. Offense hasn't been good in Game 7s but the leadup games where the Leafs could've won the series neither Andersen or Campbell were capable of shutting the door.

Now please Leafs players don't hang Murray out to dry like you have the past dozen or so starters (almost all of whom jumped at the first opportunity to get out of Toronto).

If they can make that vow and stick to it, and Matt can stay healthy, just maybe ...

Just so you know.. Devils players still have to live in New Jersey

This has been a rough season. Leafs not playing to their potential. Matthews still not himself. Struggling in OT 3 on 3. Injuries to goalies. Injuries to defense.

All that and at the quarter mark leafs are 5th in the league in point %

I'll take it

It is only 1 game, but it appears as I have thought all along, Sandin must be a Ray Bourqe type player or he is done. Keefe is the reason he has not developed. Now he has a chance to be a force and take the lead. Looked better today than he has in a long time.
Hope he is a pleasant surprise. Reilly's injury may have helped us. 🙏
 
I have no memory of the Leafs getting the close call 3 times in a row. Now they were the correct calls to be sure - it's just that I've never seen the correct call going the Leafs way 3 consecutive times. I now have an inkling of how a Bruins fan feels like or an 80's Oiler fan, or a 70's Hab fan.

on a side note that you may find both stupid and funny. The DJ playing the music in the arena decided to play beastie boys "sabotage" during the game delay when some fans were throwing stuff on the ice.

It fits the mood...DJ wanted the arena to burn.... :laugh:

Both times we played it was intense and damn I loved every minute of it. You guys have a solid team over there, can't wait for the next one ! Cheers!

What was good bad and ugly overall?
 
Murray being good is a nice surprise... I always think about how valuable players are relative to their cap hit. The more arbitrage you get on a players market value is how you win. Murray after game 1 was looking like a negative asset we were paying 4.25 million. Right now he's looking like a 4.25 million dollar goalie. If Murray can just be worth his cap hit and not a negative that would be huge. If he's worth more then 4.25 even better.

That is my point exactly

Those two have done this in the season over and over again for us. But think every game seven/five, and you can name a stinker per game

If either can shut it down in game 7, that would be so golden

Yea, but it’s been a while since that happened, for me, his regular season as long as it’s .905+ is whatever, his playoffs are to judge. Because that’s the reason we got him

If he delivers in the playoffs, then it’s all worth it
