he's actually had good relative corsi numbers. I think it was in the 8's last year and 7.2 the year before and those were his two worst years. For cheap, he would be a solid gamble considering that when he's on the ice he tends to be a positive possession player.

If he'll sign for under 1 million for 1 year, then yes - absolutely... cant lose. Gomez might be able to turn it around with a change of scenery.

If you are one of those fools who wants to tank to build, you may not be for this.. my philosophy is lets become a respectable team, start winning some games, and make Toronto desirable again. This is why I'm for a Lu trade, and this one as well. I want the best team we can get now, not later... especially in this case where it doesnt cost anything.

9 goals in 120 games over the last two years, he's 33
8 goals in 50 games over the last two years he's 22 and makes way less than a million per.

You would rather he get a spot on the roster than Kadri? Are you sure?

If you sign Gomez and he doesn't work out waive him and play Kadri. you dont have to keep him on the team if he doesn't produce better than he did in Montreal.

Good god no!

1. He's making too much $
2. He's a shell of his former self, sure playing with Kessel/Lups may spike his point totals a bit but not enough to justify bringing him here.
3. Don't like Bozak but even I can admit hes a better fit then Gomez
4. All of the above

Feel like this is multiple choice lol.

So you'd give him 20 games? The season would be half over and we still wouldn't have given Naz a decent fair shot.

No one is saying if we sign him dirt cheap we have to keep him or play him.

He is an upgrade on Lombardi as the 13th forward. And has some potential as a reclamation project. If he doesn't work out waive him and it cost us nothing.

IF cheap enough, i'd take a gamble... was at one point a solid 2 way player, a C; which we happened to need.

NO no no no.

He is DONE. There is very very little chance he rebounds and if he does, it won't be in a market like Toronto which is just as rabid as Montreal.

On a 1 year deal for less than a mill. Sure its a no risk gamble. Any more than that no thanks.

Only if he pays us the amount of money he made with the rehabs than I'd consider him for a tryout in training camp. And unless he scores 20 goals in three scrimmages, he not making the roster.

Whatever happened to Scott Gomez, the guy was always a talented player but just stopped being able to produce. Something similar to Chuck Knoblauch it seems, just 1 day they don't have it anymore
