With news of the "accelerated compliance buyout" that MTL have at their disposal:

Should they exercise it, and Gomez clears waivers - if the Buds have a shot at him, would he be worth a look as our #1 center?
We all know he had his issues in MTL, but if a change of scenery is all he needs to be that mighty mouse force he used to be in NJ, then just maybe?

According to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, in order for a player to be bought out this week, he still must clear waivers first. He says to assume that Redden and Gomez will be put on waivers on Wednesday.
