OT: Golf 2.0

Dylan Samberg shot a 74 on his first round of the Manitoba open which set a record for Jets in this tournament. The previous low was Schiefele at a 78 a few years back.
Impressive round at Southwood!

It's wild how good pro golfers are. Southwood from the back tees is if not the hardest, top 2 in Manitoba. The Canadian tour (essentially ECHL) guys just went and shot -25 to win, one guy went 3 of 4 round without making a bogey.

Just insane.

Had my best round at Southwood this year and it was a 74 from the yellows. Prob as good as I could play - only 1 ball in the long grass and was able to find it. Tournament golf there would be a terrible experience with how many provisionals you would need to play if your driver was even a little off.

Yea its all so next level. So many amazing golfers that have to sleep in their cars to take their shot.

Just wrapped up a 10 day trip to Muskoka and South Carolina. Started out at Muskoka Bay which is a great track in a scramble format. Lots of fun and great course. Off to South Carlolina and we golfed Dunes West (River Club) least nice course on the tour. Next day it was the Wild Dunes Links nicer. Then we took a day off and traveled about 40 minutes to Kiawah Island resort and which is a pretty spectacular lay out.

3rd round in Carolina was Osprey Point and it was great. Next day we golfed the Ocean Course with caddies and that was the highlight golf wise of the trip. One of the better courses I have golfed. Next day most of our crew headed back but four of us stayed an extra day thanks to Air Canada and we golfed Turtle point and it was great. We did a two man best ball and had a blast.

Then it was back home and I golfed Windsor Park yesterday with my son and his high school golf coach (teacher). They play their tourney there this Thursday so it was a prep day.

In summary I had 7 rounds of 18 holes in 11 days and that would normally represent a good year for me lol.

Thank you Molson for being an amazing partner.

A good buddy of mine turned 50 and we celebrated yesterday. He booked a scramble at Maplewood, shot gun start, at 7:00AM (WTF). Turned out is was an awesome day to golf. I was with my son and two other guys who were a blast.

I was the perfect scramble partner. For the life of me I couldn’t get off the tee yesterday?? I hit one great drive with my driver and probably 10 drives OB right? That being said I drained 4 puts outside 10 feet, had three chips from off the green into about 4 feet of the cup. Got two natural birdies. Hit a couple of pins with shots.

Probably lost 8 to 10 balls but hit 10 to 12 stroke saving shots.

Fun course and even a better day. September 14th, hot as hell, making memories with my son.

It's nice to see your enthusiasm now ps'....

You were reticent to start playing golf regularily again...

With the pain comes joy more often when shared with good people, people that matter...

Sounds like a great trip. Saturday myself and 2 friends, 4th guy that was supposed to go couldn't . We played Gimili Saturday evening then stayed at one of my friends cabin in Gimili Saturday night. Then it was off to Hecla where we played 2 rounds on Sunday, 2 on Monday and 2 on Tuesday. We stayed at the resort in Hecla and had a great time in the pools and water slide. Our last round was my best and we played from the back tees , go figure. You could tell at one time the Hecla resort was really nice but it seemed to us that it needed some work.

When you golf alot you really realize how good those golfers are and how shity we mortals are.

Committed to a season ending scramble with a buddy at his course. I have to say I thought I was done with golf this season (not in a bad way) but boy was I wrong. It turns out it was one of my favorite rounds of the season because how often do you get a gorgeous golf day on October 18th in Manitoba.

Very memorable day with a good group of guys, most of which I hadn't met.

Thinking today is going to be my last round......here anyway. :naughty: Going to Nashville Thursday and have 5 games booked. My buddies pro is apparently getting us on 2 private courses out there, I'm looking forward to that.

I got a round in at St.B on Saturday. Leaves were pretty bad, lost a few...I'd say more than a third of the holes I had to use my putter for about 120/150 yards to get out of the trees. Two pars was my best score of the year in 10 rounds around some different golf courses. My golf game is like my goaltending career now, purely for entertainment.

Ya the leafs are pretty bad. :naughty: Tomorrow is going to be my last round and then off to Nashville where we are playing 2 public courses and 3 private, a little perk for being a member here in Winnipeg.

Well i don't know about you guys but it's been 3 months now since golf, getting the itch big time. Couple of funny video's here though.

I just ordered a new 3 Adams Tight Lies fairway metal
Taylor Made is going to get this brand going again after purchasing them back in 2012 for Adams technology at the time.
So it being sold only as a 3 or 5 wood for now.
I’m pretty excited to see how this works.
They are very inexpensive compared to Taylor Made’s fairway metals.
