You responded to a question about Brannstrom being on the PP. His 5-on-5 play, which has been better than Chabot this year, has nothing to do with that.

Chabot hasn’t played to the level everyone expects but Brannstrom hasn’t been close. He had some strong games early when he was moving the puck up ice but he’s been back in his shell for the last couple of weeks.

Because he's terrible, he gets continually beat as he did on their first goal tonight.
Not on the powerplay, he’s good at carrying the puck and moving it on the blueline. Harder shot than Chabot probably too, but hey he’s not 6-5 260 so not worth discussing

It's the individual mistakes that are costing us, Sanderson with a misplay allowing Eichel to steal in and get it over to the slot, goal, DeBrincat fans on a pass and gives it away, goal, Stützle mishandled it on the PP and gives it away,(not to mention Chabot/Bath defending) goal,

None of that was coaching or defensive systems. We're gripping sticks too tight and handing them opportunities.

Agreed.

Shit happens. This is "one of those" games. It just sucks that it has to happen during a losing streak. We're clearly the better team tonight. Let's hope for a comeback in the 3rd.

This is it, these are the lines. If these lines dont work ill retire as an armchair coach.

I'd love to know bathersons stats 5on5 with stu vs without, when Bath came back from his injury he was playing with timmy and was playing bad. The moved him back to 7 and 9's line and he was on fire again, even hinted in an interview he prefers to play there.

I think with bathersons play making ability debrincat will benefit and pinto right now is shooter if cat decides he wont ever score on a goalie again.

Then you have brady and G who are always on point, stu can actually carry the puck in an be a bit of a go to guy on that line

We could have used a save or two from Forsberg. Again none were bad goals but…. Thompson let 2 bad goals but he’s stopped two guys in alone and has made 3 or 4 other great saves not to mention the 3 posts.

None of the goals were bad I guess but a few of them were definitely stoppable.

Almost through ten games just some observations:
1.)Bad defence. Horrible top to bottom.
2.)We are one of the most penalized teams in the league.
3.)And a few snake bitten forwards.
I think the forwards will get better once chemistry develops!
I think they can fix the penalties by playing more disciplined.
The defencemen.........not sure what the answer there is.....Zub get back soon!

Agreed. It's a very different game if Thompson doesn't stop that DeBrincat breakaway, and Forsberg stops at least one of Vegas' breakaways.

We are pushing forward. D zone and neutral zone is defense is still just…..the exact same. You could have lidstrom back there. Would likely be the same

I'm dreading how much he's gonna demand after watching the shambles the D has been without him.

Also a nice pass from Chabot to Stone on the first goal. Give aways galore from the Senators.
