Lol no kidding. This is far from the most embarrassing Canadian performance, talk about lack of historical perspective of this tournament from that post.

Games like this happen in junior hockey. The Americans were the better team and deserved to win.

Bad 10-15 minute stretch of hockey over two periods was the difference. Couple lucky bounces and a deflection led to two American goals and Canada hit a couple posts and missed several grade A chances.

Effort was there from both sides, it was a good game. I’m pissed Canada lost but the team battled hard just wasn’t their night. Happens in hockey at times and the Americans were really adept at clearing rebounds and getting loose pucks out of the middle. Knight was stellar as well.

Congrats American fans, that was a good game.

Yup, it might be a hottake, but again the facts don't lie. Canada couldn't sustain any pressure and any chance they got came off the rush and not on rebounds. Remember this is USA's generational draft year team minus Hughes, these lads have been playing together for like 4 seasons now even if their junior and college team has changed.

I hate the Canadian hockey media so much sometimes because all they ever do is hype Canada and it either ends in an expectation being met or disappointment. They act like the other teams are lucky to be in the same tournament after Canada beats up on Switzerland and a 16-man German team.

Canada has the most talented players. They never did seem to completely gel as a team. Maybe the line combinations from Tourigny contributed to that.

I'm a dual citizen so I got a lot of empathy for both groups of kids. I'm really happy to see the growth and success of the sport in the States. Those were the kids I grew up with. I want to see the rematch in the Olympics

I've mentioned this yesterday.

first off nothing was gauranteed, I don't care how many goals Team Canada has scored a long the way. I see Team USA's Roster, and they are no slouch, I see Canada's roster, stronger roster, yes, 1996 world cup, Canada had a superior roster over the Americans and the Americans beat Canada. In hockey anything can happen because of how great game is played. I even said it, all it takes is, an "American Sniper" to score the 1st goal, and they can play a "defensive" style hockey, fustrating brand of hockey, even if we out chance the States, that's all it takes, they take the 1st goal, maybe score the 2nd they can play "defence" the rest of the way and win it, I even said Knight can play a strong game, one guy says he believes in Levi which is fine, BUT NOTHING IS GUARANTEED IN HOCKEY. IT'S NOT BASKETBALL.

Anyways USA Played hard for the gold medal and they should be proud of their medal. I am sad my country men lost of course I am sad, we have the fire power to win it, with or without Dach, no excuses allowed. American hockey is kinda on the rise in my opinion. I hope we can reclaim this glory next year.
