He's the president of mother****ing Russia, would you expect him to speak Russian even if he spoke it like a native? How would that look with his idea of returning Russia to the superpower Soviet Union used to be?
 
Finland's coatch Jalonen was too scared of letting the flow of the game take over. Instead he let the veterans have too much to say about how much and where they play.

The guy is a decent coatch, but not a winner. Too scared to take some risks. Finland wont win Canada twice by just waiting for them to make a mistake and play the safe play.
 
GG Canada, you were better. Finland didn't get the best out of them at the most important moment but that's hockey and that's how well Canada defended.

No, the game was never close enough to justify blaming it on the refs. Finland only needed a single goal, just one, to tie it, but they never even came close to scoring for 60 minutes. They had absolutely zero offense generated all night. Not even a hint of a quality scoring chance. Brilliant goaltending kept Finland within range, and I honestly wanted them to win, but you can't score a goal when you're trapped in your own zone, which is where Finland was most of the night. Brilliant forechecking strategy by Canada, and no solutions at all from the Finnish bench. Deserving win by Canada.

Yeah, Canada was on their heels all game. Maybe that made Finns look that bad. It really looked like they played with +200ms ping, late on all reactions. :D

Yeah, well, it's joy to see great hockey and Canada was absolutely great. I'm sure many fans of the small ice thought the game was bit boring, but it was absolutely fascinating. That 3rd period was a great disappointment and the clincher: Canada was so much better that any other result would have been a travesty. A gold well earned!

Taylor Hall man good to see him get gold after the **** he's had to go through being in Edmonton. Kid came from the Spitfires dynasty, to the WJC, to a period of not winning anything.
