Hmm, pretty good first period by Finland - we knew Canada would create chances, too bad they now utilized on one, but towards the end of the period we got much better. Anyway, Canada has obviously learned from the previous game: now there is much more cautious play and not so wild coast to coast skating, some attacks resemble very much Finland style puck control hockey...

Well Maybe Matthews should not get any credit till he shows up in a big game because so far he has not.

Difference is Matthews isn't being compared to Crosby or McDavid, like Laine is being compared to some all times greats like Ovi and Selanne.

Most i've seen is a Toews or Kopitar thing. So a 60-70 point C, with high level defense. He could maybe even be a Selke level C who scores 50-60 points a season.

Laine is being hyped even harder and compared against even better guys.

It's a fair question. He has all these highlight reels of busting down the right wing and scoring from the blue paint. That's his thing, he doesn't try to beat the goalie with a shot, it's usually a deke or a tip. His shot is NHL-minus caliber, but the other stuff is doubleplus good, so why not do that till someone stops it (like those 2 months last year).

In what world are you living? I've seen post as ''Mathews is a futur 100 point scorer with selke levell defence'' That's a better player than Ovehkin.
