Dont know about you Canadians but in Finland we use nets or rods with a hook for fishing. Never seen anyone hit the water with the rod though in order to get fish. :dunno:

Both deserved their 2 minuters.

You guys never poke at the puck in the crease? Alright.

Silly that people think Marchand should get a penalty for poking at the puck.

Not really a strong period for any Finn. Laine had few nice passes and one good shooting position and one great chance. One of the mlst dangerous Finns. But judging by your posting history, he ate your breakfast or something. So I don't expect too much objectivity from you.

I think Laine was being kept in check besides that one chance where he snuck behind everyone and almost cheesed it by Canada .

Other than that he's been trying to create chances that's for sure. If Perry didn't block his shot it might have been a nice shot on net.

If Finland don't get too many powerplays for the rest of the game I think Canada beats them 5 on 5. That's where Finland is at their strongest.

This guy is being compared to Ovi. I expect him to take over games, like Ovi did. So far, all I've seen is him "take over" against weak teams. Let's see him do something this game, and I will give credit.

He was good in this period. You're right that he is better than matthews, but you can't expect him to destroy canada alone as B-junior.

After seeing the replay, the canada 1-0 was a goal only McD would be able to pull. Nicely protected the puck with feed and then quick whip within 0,2 seconds to lift the puck.

Not after the goalie has had his glove on the puck for a while. I was fine with the first 2 hits, but not after Koskinen had his glove on it. The last one came way too late.

Also the penalty for Marchand came because he started hitting Komarov when the ref was holding Komarov in a headlock.

Well Maybe Matthews should not get any credit till he shows up in a big game because so far he has not.

Even if you want to get Marchand for the "slash" on the keeper, it just shows how inconsistent the reffing has been. I'm pretty sure they missed over 100 penalties of that nature over the tournament so far.

Cant wait to see the next "slash" on either goaltender to go uncalled....or maybe the'll get in one of their patented huddles to talk about it. IIHF reffing is a gong show....which is why NHL refs come in when its best on best.

Yeah. 5 on 5 you guys are dominating us. Doesn't look good for us.

Guys calm down, it is a nice, tense and clean game so far. Refs are staying out of it and only send two hotheads off. Chill and enjoy.
