Let's see whose jaw will Malkin break in this final. Last year it was Haula after a minute of play. Team Canada, show some rough stuff for those russians!

Simply not true: Tyutin, Emelin, Denisov, Zaitsev, Biryukov, Medvedev, Nikitin, Zadorov, Markov on D
Radulov, Zaripov, Yakupov on O at the least.

We don't have nearly the depth Canada has, but this is NOT quite an A team you are claiming it to be.

Oh its pretty close outside of the players I mentioned and Markov all of Russias impact/best players are there. Radulov is ok I guess but nothing special at this level.

I dont see Yakupov being a positive player against an offensive team like Canada he would do more harm than good he simply is very poor on the defensive side of the puck.

I like Canada's chances but I was arguing it is closer than many posters have suggested.

How many TSN channels are available for you guys? I'm on Shaw in Alberta and the game is on 1, 4, and 5. :dunno:

Can't speak for the others here, but for myself, my parents and a few other I checked with in Winnipeg, we can only watch TSN 3 and not 1, 4 or 5.

okay, before the game starts, I have to say this.

Dear Canadians, if by some miracle team Russia does win this game, pleas do not use the excuse of "You basically have your Olympic team here, and we only have our C,D,E,F and so on team"

There are 8 members of the Sochi Olympic team playing for Russia, and 4 playing for Canada. But on the Canadian roster, several current members were prominent candidates for Sochi who weren't selected for no obvious reason - Spezza, Seguin, Giroux, Couturier and even Taylor Hall. I even saw more than one opinion that MacKinnon should have been on the team. So its not as if the Canadian roster isn't Olympic caliber compared to other entrants.

The Russian team is predominantly KHL, so most Western observers have no idea who they are. Because of injury, they have about 8 guys who are less suitable than the guys they replaced, and that will obviously be an obstacle to fight against. I hope they have a good game and acquit themselves well. Everybody expects them to lose by a wide margin, which in effect gives them nothing to lose.

In regard to the USA, my opinion was that they were the best organized, coordinated and synchronized, which explains the success they had, but in no way would I suggest the quality of their play was comparable to the Soviet Olympic teams - only Soviet-like in team play.

The Russian team has ten players from the Olympics - Medvedev, Belov, Bobrovsky, Ovechkin, Malkin, Tarasenko, Kulemin, Tikhonov, Anisimov, Kovalchuk. No one seriously considered Spezza, Couturier or MacKinnon for the Olympics (though the younger pair should be considered in the future). I agree that Giroux, Seguin and Hall are Olympic calibre. Anyway, hopefully it will be a good game.

It is true though.

Hall, Seguin, Giroux etc..

This is Canada's B team outside of Crosby.

Even if Canada wins- i will say beforehand that this is a Canada B team. If Canada had Carey Price in net- that would be a different story.
