I don't see how that changes anything, you always have by FAR the best team at any tournament, WC, Olympics, WJC, you name it.

It matters. Best on best is the only tournament that counts. Its the only tournament where all countries ice their best players. USA in particular iced a bunch of college kids.

Over half of Canada watched the gold medal game in Vancouver. Per capita by country it was the most watched sporting event ever.

Do you think over half of the country watched this game? I would be SHOCKED if 2 million did.

The players did care. They celebrated just like the Russians celebrated last year. Just stop underrating the importance of this event for the players. Nobody cares what some fans somewhere think, the players value this tournament greatly. See how motivated and happy Crosby was. He's Canada's best player.

By that logic the players didn't care about Sochi....remember every Swede on her *****ing that they didn't celebrate?

They are competitive athletes. Of course they care. You see them celebrate when playing pre game soccer all the time too. That d oesnt mean this has NEARLY the same significance as a best on best tournament. If it did players wouldnt turn it down all the time.

That's not true for the WHC. Whilst we always have a good team at the WHC, Russia and sometime Sweden gets the better roster most of the time. This year was a special one for Canada.

Without a specific sports package from some providers you can't view TSN 1, 4, 5. Myself and many others were stuck watching it online (or not at all) because all we have access to is TSN 3, which is the regional TSN network for much of the prairies.

Manitoba our tsn is tsn3. People who have Shaw only get tsn3. Same with Shaw in Saskatchewan.

Like I said, if you have TSN 1, 4 or 5 you are probably paying for a sports package - with basic packages or basic cable your TSN 1 will revert to TSN 3 - i.e. my channel 13, 181 etc (on shaw) was all NASCAR.

Why are you even here? Canada won nothing today, there's nothing to talk about. This is not a best on best tournament, why the hell were the Canadian players even smiling today? No reason I guess.

My exact situation - I pretty much only watch sports on T.V., but still stream most of that. It sucks for a lot of the older crowd, or those who live in apartments/condos and have basic built into their condo fee - or anyone who just has basic at all. It's lame that they solely singled out TSN 3 while 1, 4, 5 were all covered.
