Canada Could make three, four, five teams. thats why the NHL will forcibly split up team canada and force them to split into two teams based on age and yes they can win gold and silver. HERE WE GO BABY!

Five teams, that's crazy. Actually, most of the Canadian players could win a medal playing by themselves! They could, conceivably win 27 separate medals. Sid could probably play Sweden and Finland alone on separate rinks at the same time and crush them both.

Could someone please remind Crosby that no one in Canada cares about this meaningless tournament and that his team has won pretty much nothing today? :sarcasm:

Why the :sarcasm:?

Over half of Canada watched the gold medal game in Vancouver. Per capita by country it was the most watched sporting event ever.

Do you think over half of the country watched this game? I would be SHOCKED if 2 million did.

No one cares about the WHC.

:( I'm somebody

Honestly, as a Canadian i didn't really care too much win/lose. This is not a best on best tournament. Winning is great but at the end of the day - this was meaningless. What i took out of it were some of the individual performances. Like Brent Burns. Whole new respect for him. Mozyakin also.

Most of Russian team leaves ice during celebrations. Ovechkin appears to want the team to stay out.

Guessing he'll be the defacto Russian captain.

Kovalchuk, what a loser. Orders his teammates to leave before the anthem. Props to Ovi, Malkin & the other guys who stayed.

The players did care. They celebrated just like the Russians celebrated last year. Just stop underrating the importance of this event for the players. Nobody cares what some fans somewhere think, the players value this tournament greatly. See how motivated and happy Crosby was. He's Canada's best player.

usa goalie should of won

Agreed. Helly had better stats and a medal on a lower rank team (IIHF rankings) over Rinne, but the IIHF directorate or whatever awards are kind of silly. I love Jagr as well, but no way a forward who is tied for 20th in points for the tournament deserves MVP on a 4th place team.

I don't see how that changes anything, you always have by FAR the best team at any tournament, WC, Olympics, WJC, you name it.
