Goals against review thread

Hey guys, PSA to all. Apparently this is OBVIOUS sarcasm about sarcasm. A sarcasm inception, if you will. Duh. Also, apparently don't respond in a thread titled "GA Review Thread" with comments about goalie play. That is in poor taste.

My b.
How about this.

I was being facetious about Blackwood. My apologies if I jabbed you too hard. That wasn't my intent. Bleed and I go back and forth about the goalies and I try to have fun with it. We've done that for a while and you have to see it over a longer period to divine if I'm making an actual comment or just having fun. Peace.

To be fair, I think a lot of the regulars don’t read this thread at all. I know of at least one who has claimed to even have it on ignore. I think I actually got more views and comments when I did it in the out of town scoreboard thread, but a few people requested I start my own thread. And I don’t think those people even follow along anymore.

I do know I have a few people from other fanbases who check it out though.

I think as far as the regulars here go, it’s mostly just @My3Sons @Dialamo @Its Always Sundstrom and @Louskoolaid89 who follow and comment. Flames fan @BigRangy has followed along as well.

@My3Sons has a smartass Blackwood comment after every night he plays.

Fair enough, and that's fine. I've skimmed it plenty of times. But then @My3Sons can't jump down someone's throat for no reason. Any reasonable person that doesn't live in this thread would have viewed that comment seriously...so a normal response would be clarifying it's a joke (I still don't really see how, but whatever, would still be fair explanation). Not freaking out and making some Nico 3C false equivalency. THAT would be obvious sarcasm/mocking. On the otherhand, the majority of this board did and still does consider Blackwood a run of the mill inconsistent tendy. If not the majority, certainly a material amount. And I disagree with that.

Carry on.

see my comment above. I should have been clearer in my original response to you.

I’m just here for the centerfolds.

I’m just here for the centerfolds.
I’m not sure if I ever shared this on here or posted about it. Maybe I did 3 years ago.

But after Jon Gillies playing here 3 years ago I can’t help but think of him whenever I hear Centerfold or see J. Geils Band.

I now always wanna call it the Jon Gillies Band.

I thought that was potentially a funny tidbit worthy of this thread after you brought up the word centerfold.

Devils vs Hurricanes: 2 goals against Markstrom, 1 stoppable. 1 goal against Andersen, 0 stoppable.

Senators vs Maple Leafs: 3 goals against Ullmark, 0 stoppable. 2 goals against Stolarz, 0 stoppable.

Panthers vs Lightning: 2 goals against Bobrovsky, 0 stoppable. 6 goals against Vasilevskiy, 0 stoppable.

Wild vs Golden Knights: 2 goals against Gustavsson, 0 stoppable. 4 goals against Hill, 3 stoppable.

Goals scored against goalies: 22. Goals stoppable: 4. Percentage of goals stoppable: 18.18%. Combined save percentages: .883%.

Interesting to see the save percentages so low but thr stoppable goals percentage also low. Especially when you consider Hill had a mediocre night. Thr other guys did well overall.
I only saw one on Vasilevskiy that was questionable, but there were guys in the crease and he was distracted.

6 goals on 17 shots is really bad and apparently 37.5% is the highest shooting percentage in a playoff game since Pittsburgh scored 5 on 12 in the 2017 finals against Nashville.

But I think half the goals were PP goals and I thought at least 5 he couldn't do anything about. Just unlucky.

The percentage of goals I've counted stoppable these playoffs was very high, but came down to pretty nearly what I counted with the regular season after the games last night.
