Softy of the night is this Alec Martinez goal on Kevin Lankinen

This wasn’t even a good shot. It was horrible. This was from too far out and it really didn’t have a whole lot of heat on it. This should be a routine save for any NHL caliber goalie.

Another disconnected controller goal. The replay on it isn’t good enough to show how bad it was from the other angle, but it was BAD.

Softy of the night is this Jonathan Marchessault goal on Ville Husso

What the f*** was that?

Hey @Bleedred i have a question for you. What was the NJ record in games where the goalie had at least a .910 save percentage?
I don’t have that info off hand, but I can look it up.

With as many times as we had to switch goalies in games, it might be best if I separate by starts.

Goals against review for the May 1st, 2022 game

Kraken vs Jets: 4 goals against Driedger, 1 stoppable. 3 goals against Comrie, 0 stoppable.

So that’s 7 goals scored on goalies, 1 is stoppable. That’s 14% of the goals scored were stoppable. Combined save percentages were .876%.

This is the last review for the 21-22 regular season. The entire playoffs will be reviewed in this thread nightly, with every goalie starting with 0 stoppable goals for the playoffs. Playoff and regular season counts are separate. Since there will any be at max 4 games a night, reviews will likely be posted night of, once the games have concluded for the evening. Unless there’s a really long overtime game that takes almost all night to play and I’m too tired to stay up. Though that rarely happens that I’m too tired to stay up and finish the game, but I may be too tired to type up my review until the next day.

Usually a breakaway won’t get you a softy of the night, but this just reminded me way too much of Kucherov on Gillies on the breakaway from earlier this season.

Softy of the night is this Ross Colton goal on Jack Campbell

It could have been the Matt Boldy goal on Binnington, but this was just hilarious for Campbell looking down at his glove like it was the glove’s fault for failing him. Oettinger let in a goal in game 1 where he looked at his glove after missing the shot, but it was a one timer and not quite as bad as this one.

There wasn’t anything really bad to choose from tonight. Mostly a bunch of long shots on Ingram and a couple other so-so goals. I thought this one wasn’t so great.

Softy of the night is this Jacob Trouba goal on Louis Domingue

This is a pretty ugly one. I could have given it to Shesterkin for his giveaway before the Guentzel goal that made it 3-3, but I think that one was more on his teammates just missing it. I think he played the puck to them as best as he could and they were just unaware/just missed it. Still gave him a stoppable goal for it, but not sure it warrants softy of the night for those reasons.
