As far as I know, one-way just means he's paid the same whether he's in the NHL or not. A two-way would pay him a different salary when he's not in the NHL.
Gotcha, yeah that's what I figured. It will be interesting to see who ends up on waivers.

Or we take a small sampling of games with teams that don't resemble go-time rosters with a grain of salt and don't care about the results.View attachment 913870
Funny how this goes. Lyon wasn't good at pre-season and Husso looks like he could rebound to form.
Jesus, this is bad use of a small sample, even for you Henkka. I'll chalk it up to this being your personal preseason too. Shake the rust off, bud. Let's get those sample sizes up to at least 4 games next time, eh?View attachment 913870

It’ll be a while before we know who the real starter is, glad Husso looked good in preseason but that doesn’t mean much.
I think it's encouraging that he looked good for 111 minutes without shitting the bed like last season. That's almost 2 full games. If he had shit the bed, it would have been him getting waived, not Holl. Preseason or not, even with the limited sample size it was enough to keep him in the NHL. I'm sure practice and scrimmages factored into it as well.
Talbot was brought in to be the starter, so I assume we're gonna get limited sample size for Lyon and Husso this whole season. Talbot got 54 starts last season, so we may see Husso and Lyon for only 14 games each.
Source on that? I somewhat doubt they brought him in a 2x2.5 contract to be a bonafide #1.Talbot was brought in to be the starter

Based on the fact that Husso sucks, lol. What an ugly game.Source on that? I somewhat doubt they brought him in a 2x2.5 contract to be a bonafide #1.
Exactly, If he doesn't start getting some ice time and making good use of it, they'll have to change his name to Alex Bobcat or something.I need more Alex Lyon in my life. Not too much, because we know he can’t handle that. But a bit more. Not even dressing tonight was just too little Alex Lyon.
In all seriousness, Talbot had a nice shutout, but he's not this good. The love he gets this season will never be higher than it is today. Lyon will definitely be needed, and hopefully his workload will be managed such that he provides good value as a backup/1B. I'm a little more worried about Talbot getting a starter's workload behind this defense.
Hope Igor hits UFA and throw the bag at him. That or pray Cossa gets ready quick.

Talbot's played 7 games, Lyon 6. Sounds like a 1A/1B situation to me *shrugs*Well, that didn't age well.
At this point, Cam's getting the workload until he falters. Gotta go with the hot hand.

Think the split is just right one.
Last season they had:
- Talbot 54 games
- Lyon 44 games
Share: Talbot played ~55% more games than Lyon. For current season the 7 vs. 6 split is already same at ~54%.
For current season that 55-45 split would be:
- Talbot 46 games
- Lyon 36 games
- Husso 1 game.
